'Son Heung-min's father' coach Son Woong-jung indicted on child abuse charges

Coach Son stated in a statement sent to Yonhap News on the 26th, “We are currently investigating the rough language that occurred during recent academy training and the corporal punishment (hitting the thigh once with a plastic corner flag while lying face down) that occurred during physical training.”

He countered, “However, the plaintiff’s claims are far from the truth in many ways, so the Academy is actively cooperating with the investigation by revealing the facts without distorting or hiding them.”

Director Son said, “I swear on everything that the Academy leaders have never said or done anything that was not based on love for the children,” and added, “I have no intention of saying that I did not do something, and I have no intention of saying that I did something that I did not do. I will reflect on the fact that I failed to keep up with the changing times and the standards set by the law and only guided the children in my own way.”

I think we need to know the whole story and then look at the results of the investigation. These days, educators are often reported for child abuse.
