“Please tell me your next schedule.”
Kim Seok-jin, the thirty-four-year-old executive director of Seohwa Group. Seohwa, meaning "flower of dawn," was named by his grandfather. He slowly made his way to this position, step by step, and people called him "monopolist" and "workaholic."
"At 3 o'clock today, there's a meeting to discuss the details of the exhibition that will be held in two weeks. And at 5 o'clock, there's a press conference regarding this rumor."
Kim Yeo-ju, thirty-two, is the executive director's secretary. She's been with him for nearly ten years, since Seok was the general manager. Knowing Seok's personality, habits, and every move, she's called him a "monopolist" and a "workaholic," having been by his dry and withdrawn side for ten years. Perhaps this is their commonality.
“Secretary Kim, what should we have for lunch today?”
"The Chairman wants to have lunch with the Managing Director. I've made a reservation at a Korean restaurant you frequent, so let's go."
“Secretary Kim, aren’t you eating?”
“Don’t worry about me, just go.”
“I know your grandfather, so I’ll just go.”
"I appreciate your concern for my lover, but I'll have to decline. The chairman has been saying he wants to see his grandchild for a few days now, but he's been unable to do so due to a business trip, and he's very disappointed."
We worked together for 10 years and dated for about 4. Oh, and we just recently started living together. The fact that we're dating is unknown to anyone at work, not even Seok's father, the vice president, or Seok's mother, the president, or even Yeo-ju's parents.
But just one person
Only Seok's grandfather knows about the relationship.
“Grandpa would like it too..”
“Please enjoy your meal alone today. We’ll eat together later.”
Seok, who had to hide his emotions and live calculating everything since he was young, was told that he had to inherit the business.
The person who held and hugged this stone was his grandfather.
So how heartbreaking it must be

“Mr. Chairman.”
“What about the chairman? When we’re alone, I say he’s my grandfather.”
“Yes, Grandpa.”
“Yeah. Why did you come alone when you two came together?”
“He sent it to me so we could have a nice meal together.”
“Really… Secretary Kim is kind and gentle. She’s sincere in everything she does. And she gets along well with our grandson.”

“My grandson really likes it too.”
“Yeah. If they both like each other, what’s the problem?”
“Father and mother..”
"Yeah. I'll just have to see if I can get a match with someone who's already decided. I'll figure out how to handle it until this old man runs out of strength, so you two should prepare well."
“Thank you. Really.”
“Okay, let’s eat now.”
Seok's parents plan to arrange a marriage between a partner who could benefit the company. This is commonly referred to as a "marriage of convenience." It's a fairly common story in this industry. But since he's already seeing someone, why would they do something like that?
“Isn’t it hard for the two of you to meet like that?”
“Just a little. I guess I’m a bit wary of what others think… I’m a little scared that if I say something, it might reach my father’s ears.”
The first time the two met was as a director and a secretary. It was a pretty ordinary and casual relationship.
But how did they become lovers?
How did the lives of two people obsessed with work become intertwined, and how did "you" or "me" become "we"?
I'm going to start telling that story now.
