Connected

That one morning

Birds chirping outside your window woke you up, you also expected nothing from your soulmate today but a throbbing a pain on your pulse says otherwise. Worried, you checked your wrist and there it is, a self inflicted wound.

"N-no way... Is he okay? I need to talk to him." You hurriedly went to get your pen and wrote a question on your wrist away from the wound.

"Are you okay? Please let's talk, don't hurt yourself." You're extremely worried for him. What if he's in a deep sorrow right now that's why he's hurting himself. No, you need to stop this. Determined, you are seriously going to help your soulmate to heal himself. Disappointed, it's almost your shift but you got no reply from him, not even a dot or something. Sighing, you started your day feeling defeated and useless. Your soulmate is in pain and here you are, not capable of comforting him because obviously he doesn't trust you well enough to say his troubles and problems to you.

"Just so you wait, I'm going to talk to you everyday day without miss." With a new found determination, you got ready for your shift and forced yourself to smile.

The door rung signaling that a new costumer went in, you bowed and smile, your gaze met but you went stiff once you saw who the costumer is. It's him! The all black guy but he's not wearing any mask today, now that you've seen his face, he's pretty cute like those type of big animal but is super adorable and soft? You frowned when you saw his eyes... It looks sad. Is he okay?

"Are you okay?" You asked, the guy clearly surprised and you realized you sound like you're acting as if you knew him.

"U-uh I'm sorry. What's your order sir?" You averted the topic but is greeted with a small smile, it's a smile if you squinted your eyes enough.

"I'm fine, thank you for asking. Large double shot espresso please, take away." He said, his voice flat.

"Right away sir." You said, passed the order to the work station and waited for his drink.

"Here, have a wonderful day, please come back again." You said cheerfully, how the way you always practiced it before to sound friendly to your costumers but this one sounded so genuine that you yourself is surprised.

"I definitely will." He said. You smiled at him and bowed. He left again but unlike before he showed some emotions and that made you happy. 

"Now I can't wait for him to visit the cafe again." You chuckled to yourself, shaking your head and served the next costumer in line.
