"Hello, Miss Jisoo. What can I do for you?" he says without turning to look at me.
"The thing is, I have a personal matter to attend to today and I'd like to leave a little earlier." I approach and take a seat in the chair opposite the desk.
"Is everything alright?" she asks, looking up.
"Yes, yes, yes, the thing is, I have to go to the doctor," I said, brushing my hair away from my face.
"Is she ill?" she asks, settling back in her chair.
"No, they're just routine tests," she smiled kindly.
-Yes, that's the case, he can go.
"Thank you, sir," I said, standing up from my chair.
"Jin, call me Jin," he says, pointing his finger at me.
"Sorry, I'm still not used to it," she smiled. "I'll be going now." I left my boss's office and headed to mine.
I had to go to the doctor that day, as I had been feeling a bit ill; at the time I assumed it was due to overwork...
A while later
"Cassie, I'm leaving now," I said, standing in front of her. "I'll leave the report on the desk for you to review." I smiled.
"Okay, see you tomorrow," she smiles. "Good luck with the doctor." She waves me off as I leave the building.
The doctor's office was a 20-minute walk away, so I decided to go slowly, enjoying the view of the wonderful city of Seoul. I put on my headphones and continued on my way.
I walked slowly, looking around. In the distance, I spotted a very attractive boy. He was wearing black jeans and a green sweatshirt. His long hair covered his forehead, barely revealing his eyes. He walked directly towards me, and as he approached, I took in his appearance. I have to say, he was incredibly handsome—his lips, his eyes, his nose—he was simply perfect. It seemed I couldn't take my eyes off him.
PWe were grilling next to each other. And what happened? NOTHING. That's what happened. He walked right past me, without even noticing me.
"How can such beautiful people exist?" I thought, and continued on my way to the doctor's office.
"Good morning, Min-Young," I said, hugging my friend.
Min-Young was my dorm roommate in college; although she studied medicine and I studied advertising, we were able to forge a very strong friendship that continues to this day, 9 years after we graduated.
"Hi, Jisoo," she returns the hug.
"Do you have my results yet?" she asked, pulling away from me and taking a seat.
-Yes - he looks in the drawer on the left of his desk - Here they are - he takes out a yellow folder and puts it on the table.
"What are you saying?" I place my bag on the seat next to me.
"Let me see," he said, opening the folder and beginning to look through the papers.
-You seem to be fine, I just see you have low glucose levels.
-And what does that mean?
"You're going to die," he laughs.
"Stop joking," I said, filming her with my eyes.
"Good. You just need to eat more, don't skip meals," she leans back in her seat. "That's why you have those lows, you're not eating as you should," she points at me with her index finger.
-I've been very busy these past few days, and I don't even have time for myself.
-Well, look. You're sick now, and if you don't get treatment now, you could develop diabetes, and then there's no way to help you.
"No! I swear I'll eat," I say, placing my right hand on my chest and smiling.
"Well, I hope so," she closes the folder and hands it to me. "Will you wait for me so we can go to dinner?"
"I can't," I said, putting the folder in my bag. "I have to go shopping." I got up from my seat. "But what do you think about going out on Friday?" I smiled.
-Perfect, take good care of yourself, okay?
"Yes, goodbye," I say, leaving the office and heading out into the street.
As I walked towards the supermarket, I passed by a small park, where I decided to sit on a bench to watch the sunset. I know it's a cliché, but watching it gave me so much peace, especially at that moment knowing I could develop diabetes at 27 years old...
While I was thinking and admiring the beautiful scenery that time of day offered, I felt someone's presence beside me. I turned around and couldn't believe what my eyes saw...
OurNext door was that boy from a few hours ago, apparently reading a book, at this very moment I can see his profile perfectly, and once again foolishly confirm how perfect he was.
"Do you know me?" Shit realized she was looking at him.
"Huh? No, sorry," I quickly turn my head and put my right hand to my forehead.
"So why were you looking at me?" I feel the weight of his gaze.
"Well, the thing is... I mistook you for someone else." "Damn, how do I get out of this?" "But you weren't who I thought you were." He smiled and I turned to look at him.
The moment our eyes met, I felt as if the world had paused; their brown eyes made me want to see nothing but them.
"Hello?" he waves his hand in front of my face.
"Huh? Yes, what were you saying?" I shake my head from left to right.
Are you okay? Did you leave for a moment?
What happened is that I got lost inher beauty/
"I'm fine," I said, looking away.
-Oh, I see. Do you live nearby?
-Because?
"It seems you're ill, and I'd like to accompany you home to make sure you arrive safely."
Are you flirting with me?
"Oh, yes, I live in 'The Lun' condominiums, but you don't have to come with me," I say, playing with my hair.
-There's nothing wrong with that, by the way, my name is Taehyung, Kim Taehyung, but you can call me Tae.
"My name is Jisoo, Lee Jisoo, and you can call me whatever you like," she smiled.
"Well, Jisoo, how about I take you home?" He stands up and looks around.
Damn, this man could do whatever he wanted to me and I'd gladly accept. / Now I know quI should never have had that thought...
"Sure, but I have to go shopping," I get up, "I think it'll have to be another day."
"I'll go with you, if you'd like, of course." She smiles very tenderly.
"I don't want to bother you," I said, adjusting my bag on my shoulder.
"It's no trouble at all, let's go." I nodded and followed him.
As we walked to the supermarket, we started chatting about our lives. She told me she was 26 years old, had moved out on her own about six years ago, and worked at a publishing house...
During the time we spent together, I couldn't help but feel nervous in his presence; he was truly very handsome, so much so that I felt intimidated by him. It's worth noting that he's approximately 15 centimeters taller than me...
We left the supermarket, and with my purchases, Tae, like a true gentleman, offered to help me.
I didn't know where that man had come from, I only knew that I didn't want to stop seeing him.
