Seokjin had expected to see him with a face full of fury, or at least sadness, but he was surprised to see him there with a look of superiority. Why was he looking at him like that? It was his engagement party; he was the one who was going to marry Namjoon, so why did Jin seem like the loser even though he was receiving congratulations on his engagement?
Park Jimin, Namjoon's ex-boyfriend, had an angelic face, a beautiful smile, he was tender and also sexy, his body was enviable, but Namjoon hadn't chosen him as his husband. He wondered why; many times he thought that perhaps Namjoon was looking for someone domestic like Seokjin, because then Jin won by a long shot.
"Jinnie, darling. Congratulations on your engagement!" His mother's voice, congratulating him, brought him back to reality. He responded with just a smile and hugged her.
"Is something wrong, dear? Is something bothering you?" the dark-haired man beside him asked with great concern. Jin's heart felt more than fortunate to have Namjoon by his side.
"I'm just happy to have you here with me," he said from the heart, earning a look he believed was one of love. He felt the other's lips on his cheek and smiled.
"I'll go talk to my mother, I'll be right back, okay?" How could he say no to those beautiful eyes? Jin nodded in response and watched as the older man walked slowly away from him, waving to the others.
She stood for half an hour in the middle of the beautiful room when the absence of her future husband became more noticeable.
She glanced towards the study where the dark-skinned man had disappeared and thought that perhaps they wouldn't mind her interrupting.
He greeted those he met along the way, all happy about the news; smiles and compliments were what he received, but neither all that overflowing happiness nor anything he had thought about would have prepared him for what he was hearing behind that door.
"How long will this last, NamJoonie? I want to be able to kiss you without having to hide." That was the voice of the person who had humiliated him so many times, and he was using that affectionate nickname that Jin used so much with his future husband.
"Don't worry, darling, just be patient. When you least expect it, I'll have my freedom and my grandfather's fortune for us." Hearing her future husband speak to his ex so lovingly made her heart ache. She felt stupid for thinking she could compete against Park Jimin; he was better at everything, and Jin only knew how to be a man of good principles.
"So you're not part of Kim's plan?" Jin heard someone say, with a hint of mockery that then disappeared. "Judging by your face, I can tell you're not," the voice softened.
"Why didn't you tell me? Why are you doing all this?" he replied, still not looking at the stranger. For him, it would have been easier for Nam to tell him what he was planning, not to seduce him and use him.
"You can still join the game, although they're way ahead. What do you say I'm your partner? That way it'll be two against two." It was when the stranger said that their eyes met.
