I cherish (TODAE)

Choi Seung-hyun stared at that incredibly familiar figure on the television. Since leaving the group years ago, he had lost contact with the members, only able to see them through their still-active presence on television, as if silently protecting them with his eyes.

Watching Daesung, so cheerful and lively in "Daesung's Family," he felt an overwhelming longing for his beloved younger brother. Back then, the sweet Daesung would always join in his quirky antics and expressions, even jokingly asking if he should change his surname to Kang, a play on words he couldn't resist. He remembered Daesung immediately replying that he should change his surname to Choi, leaving Daesung looking innocent yet adorably flustered, saying he didn't want to change his surname to Choi. Thinking of that childish conversation, Choi Seung-hyun couldn't help but laugh. Just like every time he turned on the TV, he automatically chose to watch "Daesung's Family," whether then or now, his eyes always unconsciously followed that pure, crescent-shaped smile.

He casually picked up his frequently flipped-through photo album, and just as he was about to open it, a photograph fell out. He bent down to pick it up, and looking at the photo, he couldn't help but be lost in memories of that time.

The photo shows BIGBANG members T.O.P and Daesung interacting on stage at a concert. He doesn't remember the official photo being taken. In the photo, the two are wearing military green jackets. Daesung is bent over with his head down, so his expression is not visible. His left hand is on his right shoulder. T.O.P, on the other hand, is seemingly kissing Daesung's back, with his eyes closed, one arm around Daesung, and the other holding a microphone.

Choi Seung-hyun still remembered that warm, strong arm, and the faint, yet incredibly alluring, scent emanating from Daesung when he leaned forward to embrace him. Back then, when the two of them were playfully bickering, T.O.P would often directly touch or hug Daesung; his face was smooth and soft, his chest warm and firm, his back strong and resilient, and his scent a faint, subtle fragrance—he never quite figured out if it was floral, bath perfume, or some kind of cologne.

Coming to his senses, Choi Seung-hyun looked at the photo in his hand again. He was incredibly jealous of T.O.P in the photo, the T.O.P he could freely touch and caress, even snuggle up to Daesung, indulging in his scent whenever he wanted, even clinging to him and leaning on Daesung's back, wanting this considerate and incredibly tolerant younger brother to carry him. At those times, he was closest to Daesung, his head resting on Daesung's neck, that faint, elusive fragrance lingering briefly in his nose, the back he was leaning against so comfortingly warm.

He had seen the recent fragrance ad featuring Daesung and ordered the brand, wanting to keep his scent with him. When those photos from the ad went viral online, he quietly saved them. In the photos, Daesung's smooth, shoulder-length hair shimmered a beautiful golden light in the sunlight—not glaring, yet captivating. His radiant and warm smile remained unchanged, only now, thanks to the photographer's skillful technique, it appeared even more dazzling.

That night, Choi Seung-hyun dreamt he was walking on a beach where beautiful waves were crashing against the shore. The sun overhead was so bright it was hard to look directly at him. He didn't know why he was dreaming of being at the beach; the distant water was a clear blue, but he felt he couldn't get close. So he turned and walked in the opposite direction. As he walked, he saw a figure lying on a beach mat near a tree, using his hand as a pillow, eyes closed as if taking a nap. Choi Seung-hyun walked over and stopped in front of the beach mat. He looked down at the serene face with its eyes closed. There was no silly smile he remembered; just a quiet, closed face, as if in a deep sleep. The scattered blond hair made the face appear fair and beautiful.

Choi Seung-hyun crouched down, leaning in to examine the man so realistically, almost as if he were in real life. It was Kang Daesung, whom he had seen countless times on television. His smile still held an innocent charm, but he had unknowingly become dazzling and beautiful. He leaned down, mesmerized, and kissed those lips he had never touched before—soft and carrying the same fragrance as before. He couldn't help but open his eyes, looking closely at Daesung's sleeping face. Just as he was about to lower his head again to touch those lips, those previously closed eyes suddenly opened. Startled, he quickly stood up, but before he could stand, he felt his left hand being pulled. Looking down, he met those eyes that had never changed. Choi Seung-hyun wasn't actually panicked or guilty; he was just suddenly startled, thinking that Daesung in his dream wouldn't wake up. So he let himself kiss him. But now, Daesung in the dream was awake, blinking his usual small eyes. He smiled, and Choi Seung-hyun froze. Before he could react, Daesung smiled gently and called out, "Hyung!"

Then he woke up, opened his eyes, and saw the ceiling of the room with the lights off. Choi Seung-hyun slowly sat up, feeling the images in front of him gradually blurring. He raised his hand to wipe his face and saw tears.

Realizing that the gentle smile and voice were a dream, her vision blurred and she could no longer see the room's furnishings.

Ah, yes, you, so pure and innocent, will you still call me "brother" like before?

Will you still smile at me?

A searing pain shot through his chest. Choi Seung-hyun sat alone on the bed, sobbing uncontrollably.

The scent still seemed to linger in his nostrils; he still couldn't tell if it was floral, bath fragrance, or some kind of perfume.

You are my most precious, most cherished person, Kang Dae-sung.
