Yes, it's feel so good taking a break when you rarely took a leave for quite sometimes. So, I decide to go to Jeju Island. I have not had the opportunity to go to Jeju after graduating from university and after I started working, except when I was still a little. So, this is a good opportunity. Its has been on my wish list to visit Jeju one day and finally my wish come true. Jeju island is famous for its beautiful landscapes scenery. Paragliding is the perfect outdoor activity to take in a 360-degree view of this wonderful island. But for me I don't think, I can go for paragliding because I'm afraid of heights. I've tried bungee jumping once, when I'm still studying in Australia but that's it, the first and last. I would never want to do it again. I prefer, going for a sightseeing, nature's walk or maybe go for hiking. Well, I have a week off, so I will go all out. I would never want to miss this opportunity.
Arrived at Jeju International Airport, I straight away call a cab to send me to The Shilla Jeju Resort, one of the beautiful beach resort in Jeju Island. When I arrived at the hotel, I was so amazed to see the very beautiful scenery around it. I went straight to the front desk to check in, although my vacation to Jeju Island was not planned but I managed to make a room reservation yesterday and hope to visit some interesting places on the island later. After checking in, I walked through the hotel lobby, heading to the elevator to go to my room with my luggage.
"Yoori! Yoori? Lee Yoori?"
Who the hell is calling me? Please, I don't know anyone here. Do I need to turn around and see who is calling me? No. I don't think that's a good idea. I kept walking towards the elevator, when suddenly someone grabbed my shoulder, it startled me and I looked back.
"Lee Yoori?"
I saw a beautiful lady with long hair down to her waist, looking at me with a question mark on her face waiting for my response.
"Sorry? Do I know-
"Oh my. Yoori, it's Ji-eun. Lee Ji-eun."
“Lee Ji-eun?
I was silent for a moment while trying to remember who's this beautiful lady was.
"Oh my God! Lee Ji-eun...Ji-eun. It has been so long. How have you been? What are you doing here?"
"I'm good, as you can see. Well, this is where I'm working. To be honest, I'm the hotel owner. What about you? Are you on vacation?"
"What??!! That's incredible. A very successful entrepreneur at the very young age. How long have we not seen each other? You moved before we finished high school didn't you? And yes, I'm on vacation. I worked as a Senior Editor for X magazines."
"Daebak! One of the top entertainment magazines in Korea. So yes. We moved to a few cities before my father settled here in Jeju. Actually, this hotel is a family business. My father would want us to be familiar with the business and the hospitality industry. So after highschool, I applied for Business and Hospitality Management at Yonsei University. So, here I am. I never thought, I could meet you here."
"Same. You still remember me. I'm really sorry for my reaction earlier. I didn't expect, someone know me here in Jeju and we haven't seen each other for so long. We've lost contact, when I went to Australia. I think, you're in Suwon at that time."
"Ah... It's okay. You must be so surprise. As I said earlier, we've moved in a few cities because of my father's job before he settled here in Jeju. If I didn't moved before we finished highschool, I bet we will be keep in touch and seeing each other a lot."
"Of course. Ah Ji-eun, missed the good old days."
"I know right. Oh my, what am I doing? Which room are you staying? I think of bringing you to dinner tonight at one of our restaurant. I have my own room on the 7th floor but my family house is not far from here."
"Wow! I love that. Let me check, my room no is 613. I guess, I'll go up and take a rest for now. Wait, this is my name card. Should I call you later or-
"I will call you. For now, you can have your rest, make yourself comfortable. Anything please don't hesitate to call the reception. If you want to know, anything about the hotel and the service that we provide, there's a pamphlet inside the room and just to let you know, your room is one of the best room that we have. So I hope you enjoy your stay with us and don't forget our dinner date tonight. Until then Yoori."
"Thank you so much Ji-eun. I'm so glad that I met you here. Looking forward to our dinner date tonight. There's so much to tell."
"Oh God... me too. I'm so excited. I see you tonight okay. Sorry, I have to go, I have a meeting in a couple of minutes."
We hugged and I went up to my room. As Ji-eun said, my room is one of the best, I'm not going to lie. I get the best view and the room is spacious. I'm glad I choose Jeju for my so called "unplanned vacation". I met Ji-eun and staying in one of the best resort. My mind goes back to the time, when we were still in high school, there's actually six of us. I would call us the "six stooges" because wherever we go at that time, there's always six of us. I wonder where the others are now. Oh my....Yoori, what have you been doing all this time? How can you forgot your friends?
Bo Gum, Seung Ho and Eunji, where are you now? How have you been? Is Yoongi still in touch with you guys? But he didn't mention anything or maybe he forgot, he's been busy for a while. Okay...I'll make sure to ask Ji-eun later.
