Another thing I forgot to mention is that the litter should ideally be the same for life... or as similar as possible; kittens don't like new things. All changes should be gradual.

Also, if you have two cats, you should add another extra box.

Don't forget annual checkups with the vet, and keep their deworming and vaccinations up to date :D
