I will do it

I will do it

This is the most common form of saying a verb in future tense.

STRUCTURE:

VERB STEM (ends with a vowel) plus ㄹ plus geoda
VERB STEM (ends with a consonant) plus

EXAMPLES:

I'll eat later.
I will eat later.

I - I plus is, I can be written as I.
later - later
먹다 - to eat (VERB) ; discussion below

먹다 is the verb, 먹 is the verb stem (just remove the 다). Obviously, 먹 ends with a consonant, so we have to add 을 then 거다. So it will become 'I'm going to eat' which is in plain form.

Review:
I'm going to eat - plain (all)
I'm going to eat - casual (ya)
I'm going to eat - polite (yes for vowel, ieyo for consonant)
I will eat - formal (ㅂ니다)

NOTE: Just check how the ending '다' is replaced by the others.

OTHER EXAMPLES:

I'm tomorrowI'm going to study.
I will study tomorrow.

I told JakeI'm going to vote.
I will vote for JAKE.
