Never did Jin-Hye thought that she would stand infront of this very building. She threw away all those dream in the past but here she is now with her luggage and all.
YG Training Center
What is she doing here?
Previously...
"I get to decide if I want to be an idol or a songwriter? My own free will?" Jin-Hye hasn't even read the whole proposal but it had already shocked her to the extent that she doesn't know what to expect to the rest of the proposal.
"I have to choose one of the two teams which would be participating in an upcoming survival show for the debut of a new YG group." She continued reading." Wait, if I want to be a songwriter, why do I have to face also the survival show? I'm not planning to be an idol."
Manager Taewoong was on all smiles as he looks at young Jin-Hye though curious and confused, her eyes were sparkling in happiness and excitement.
"Our songwriters are also famous in their own way. Being as young as you are, we need to build up your image. And we can never tell if you would want to change your mind. President Yang wants to take his chances. The rest of the things you may want to know is also in there." So Jin-Hye decided to continue reading.
"By deciding my preferred team, this would include joining the dorm living policy. If the chosen team wins the survival show, I.. WOULD BE ONE OF THEIR OFFICIAL SONGWRITER? Is Mr. Yang really entrusting to me such responsibility?! I mean, he hasn't really heard me or knew me directly. How can he easily give such proposals to me?"
"I told you, he has great eyes. He knows when he sees one. It's just that you're more unique that he is willing to take chances. His own words if I may add."
"Can I talk with my parents first?"
"Go ahead." Jin-Hye politely headed inside to find her parents waiting for her in their living room. Jin-Hye slowly explained everything in detail, showing also the proposal that YG Entertainment has sent. In the midst of her explanation, she found her mother simply staring at her.
"Mom, what's wrong? Do you think I shouldn't--"
"No, sweetie. It's just that I haven't realize how great my children are. I know that you're here to ask us for our opinions but that wouldn't matter anymore. Just like how it is with your brother. With how your eyes sparkle, how can we ever say no? You go ahead and say how and whatever you feel to Manager Taewoong. We will support you all the way. The both of you and Mino." Jin-Hye also looked at her father who gave her a nod and a tight hug.
"Manager Taewoong, can you tell me more what I would be doing in this survival show?" Before giving off her decision, Jin-Hye decided to clear out some of her confusions to avoid any mistakes in the future.
"As you had read earlier, you would be joining a team. You'd be somehow like a muse, as this survival show would decide the debut of YG's new boy group after BigBang." That was what shocked Jin-Hye the most. She wasn't aware that it was boy group she would be joining which made her hesitated. "But don't worry, they're really nice and harmless by the way." Manager Taewoong joked yo ease the awkwardness that started building up to the new topic they were talking about. "I have here the profiles of the team. You may be shocked to see who these are. Along with the profiles are some video performance tapes. You would need to base it to canr skills since your job also begins along with the team once they debut." Manager Taewoong handed out two portfolios. Written on the fronts page of each; Team A and Team B.
Curiously, she flipped open the first page of both portfolio. It wasn't that much of a shock seeing his brother's team on Team A's portfolio. She might've just chosen her brother's team without even looking at Team B's portfolio but some Team B members caught her eyes which somehow shocked Manager Taewoong.
"You know some of my boys from Team B?" Manager Taewoong asked curiously because of the soft giggle Jin-Hye made after looking at Team B's front profile. She can't believe she ranted out about her brother trying to be an idol indirectly to Kim Donghyuk who happens to be striving for the same thing as her brother. Maybe that's why his advices was always good towards her brother.
"Let's just say I've been friends with Kim Donghyuk for some time and I've met Song Yunhyeong." She gave a quick scan at the basic front profile of six-member Team B. The first thing she noticed is her age gap with the members. Her age is closer to those among Team B. The eldest member of the team was 4 years older than her, Kim Jinhwan. The team leader, Kim Hanbin, was 2 years older than her. She thought Donghyuk was the team's maknae based on what he told her back then but checking back on the member's profile, by age, it was the guy named My Junhoe. Donghyuk was just the one decided to be the maknae of the group as thr two were of the same age. The original members of the group were the eldest and the leader along with the lead rapper, Kim Jiwon or commonly know as Bobby since he once lived in Virginia, USA.
Manager Taewoong carefully observed Jin-Hye who was full of curiosity to those in Team B. It was unexpected. He thought she would automatically choose her brother's team without even minding Team B.
"Things may be different to how President Yang expected. Things may even get better." Manager Taewoong thought to himself.
"So are you able to make your choice of team now?" Engrossed on reading about Team B's profile, she didn't expect for Manager Taewoong to ask for her decision immediately. "You're going to you brother's team, right?" Manager Taewoong teasingly asked Jin-Hye but she looked at him seriously.
"Can I take my time in making a decision?" Jin-Hye politely asked in which received a warm smile from Manager Taewoong.
"To be honest, I'm really surprised. I'm sure President Yang would also be once he hears about this. I actually have the contract prepared for joining your brother's team but it looks like I have to prepare one for Team B also. Take you time, sweetie. I'll see you by the 31st in the YG Training Center. I also expect you to be prepared for moving in." Manager Taewoong stood up and prepared to leave. "President Yang would be announcing the survival show on the same day along with your introduction. Please have a piece ready. Imagine it as an audition for formality."
"I can use my original songs, right?"
"There would be no problem. If there isn't anything else, I'll be heading along. Also can you promise me not to tell anyone else about this, especially your brother and his team. We need some stories for the show." Jin-Hye could help but giggle at the childish wink the manager just did. "I'll see on the 31st by 3pm. Don't worry, the trainees won't see you since the assesment starts by 4:30pm. I'm very excited to hear about your decision."
Back to the present situation, Jin-Hye gave Manager Taewoong a call to inform him of her arrival. Jin-Hye was aware of the YG Training Center back then but she doesn't really know where the entrance to the basement is where the assesment would be held. She has some of her luggage on her right and she holds the member's portfolio on her left hand. She spent the past few days going through both team's performances and also constantly reminding her parents not to tell Mino anything about what was going to happen this day. She had always knew how great and balance her brother's team is. Anyone would easily pick them upon seeing them.
Jin-Hye was going through the thoughts of her decision when Manager Tewoong emerged from the buildings front gate. He immediately picked up some of Jin-Hye's luggage and lead her to the parking area towards a company mini-bus to put her stuffs in.
"Both teams and you would be using this mini bus for the trip home. Think of it as a way to interact with both teams since you would be seeing them pretty much every day. Also remember that cameras would be everywhere. From now, you have to be prepared always." Manager Taewoong give Jin-Hye's outfit a quick scan. "You haven't formally entered the company but you already scream the YG presence."
"You did instruct me to wear comfortable but assesment worthy outfit. This is how I usually do it." Jin-Hye was wearing a gray tee with black jacket, black cap, black face mask and black pants with a paper of rubber shoes. "I decided to wear a cap and mask to cover my face since I need to hide when I watch their assesment, right?"
Since Jin-Hye's introduction would happen after the assesment, she musn't make any appearances beforehand but Jin-Hye requested to watch their performance personally and it was approved with the condition of her current outfit.
"Well then, let's head down." Manager Taewoong lead the way. A few walks from the parking lot was the staircase leading down to an elevator going down to basement one. Inside the elevator as they head down, Manager Taewoong asked Jin-Hye of her decision to his question few days ago. Manager Taewong gave off a nod as he looks at Jin-Hye with a smile who looks so contented with the decision she just told him.
Manager Taewoong first led her to the assesment room before leaving to get her initial contract with YG Entertainment. Jin-Hye gently knocked on the door and slowly opened it to see a lot of staff and crew inside ready to start shooting the survival show.
"Good afternoon." She takes some gentle bows which also received a few greetings back. She was welcome with the man named Hyuk Jin. He was also a YG Traineed Manager like Taewoong. He let her that once the shoot start her seat would be by the corner of the sound systems to avoid prior notice of some of the trainees who already knows her.
"When the trainees enter, you should just simply interact with the staff and crew so that the trainees would not notice you. Keep your pretty face hidden for now, okay, dear?" Jin-Hye gave off small nods to assure that she is taking notes of all his instructions. " After the announcement from what I heard from President Yang, you would leave the room with him along with some staff and camera crew but he will come back in once again before the trainees leave to make your first appearance. Do we everything clear? You'd be performing in front of every one. Are you okay with that? Just don't be nervous." Jin-Hye doesn't know why but she wasn't even a bit nervous. She was more of excited. She handed Manager Hyuk Jin the piece she would be performing letter along with the paper with the lyricw of the song which was also asked by Manager Taewoong for her to prepare.
Jin-Hye was trying to make small talks with anyone she can in the room as time of the assesment comes closer. She have so much curiosity in her on how things work in the company, contradicting to how she feels a few weeks back. Never did she really thought she would be here.
Cameras were already around the room, ready to shoot every angle of every scene that would be happening in a few minutes.
4:28pm
The door of the assesment room opens as the trainees enter the room with Team A's Taehyun, Seungyoon, Seunghoon, Jinwoo and Mino. All of them confused to what was happening. They were followed by Team B's Hanbin, Jiwon, Donghyuk, Yunhyeong, Jinhwan and Junhoe. Team B also entered the room surprised with the amount of cameras in the room. The trainees sat on the other side of the sound system in which Jin-Hye was sitting. But the trainees were to nervous to notice the presence of the young girl. Jin-Hye was taking a few glance to the trainees' side as they talk among each other of what was happening but it didn't take too long for the door to open once again as President Yang enters with some of YG's songwriters and choreographers.
