Jonghyun turned to see his mom smiling and immediately he felt embarrassed. Kat admired her boys modesty but she couldn’t understand how he was so different in that aspect to either herself or Key. In fact, she wondered why their son was both shy and very quiet. Whereas, they were both loud and bold.
She broke the silence saying, “You’re so cool son.” Jonghyun embarrassed quickly stood up and thanked his mom. Kat then said, “Come eat, I’ve cooked your favourite.” Jonghyun shyly and obediently bowed his head in acceptance of her request.
While eating dinner, Kat asked her son if he liked his new school as they had moved into a bigger home recently after the birth of child number 3. Jonghyun said after thinking for a moment that his new school was okay but he was missing his friends from his old school. Kat understood well how he felt about missing old friends as she had grown up with few or no friends. In fact, she only had one school friend (Cha Eunwoo) whom she had remained close friends to this day.
Kat gently laid her hand on her son’s shoulder and said softly, “Don’t worry son, you will make friends at school.” Jonghyun smiled, and thinking to himself, I wish I was more like mom and dad. Kat feeling sorry for her son, apologised for moving him to a new school. Jonghyun knew his mom meant well so he said, “Mom I really want to be like uncle Taemin.”
Kat now realising her son’s true thoughts, smiled saying, “Of course son, you can be like your uncle Taemin.” Jonghyun knew his mom would support him and he also understood that his dad would agree with mom. So he further asked, “Can I please be a trainee at uncle Taemin’s agency?”. Kat was afraid he would ask for her permission but she still reassured him saying, “Of course we will have to discuss this with your dad. But I’m sure your dad will be happy to support you too.”
Before stepping away from the idol spotlight Taemin had started a small talent agency along with best friends — Jonghyun and Key. Taemin wanted to help young ones to become artists! Youngster Jonghyun grew up idolising his uncle Taemin. From a very young age he would be found watching music videos of Taemin. As he grew he also started copying his uncle Taemin’s performances. In fact, before he started elementary school he had memorised most if not all of Taemin’s choreographies. Jonghyun’s favourite dance was the iconic MOVE!
Kat already knew that her son wanted to be like his uncle Taemin. She had noticed as soon as Jonghyun was able to walk that he only danced to Taemin’s songs. She was not surprised that he asked to join his agency now. In fact, Taemin was only a young 12 year-old himself when he started training as an artist.
