Today is your long awaited day-off from work. Your friends suggested to spend the day at a nearby amusement park. You agreed with their suggestion, even though you probably won't be able to ride any of the tall rides due to your fear of heights. You agreed because it has been a while since you last saw your friends.
You guys started off with the smaller rides like the carousel, the rapids, and the bump cars. Yeah, those kind of rides suitable for little kids. You were still enjoying most of it until one of your friends suggested to ride the Viking ride.
As much as you want to protest, you don't want to kill the joy on your friends' faces. So, you hesitantly agreed. From the ride's line, you can already hear the chilling screams from the riders. You can't help but feel fear on every step as you near the ride's entrance.
The ride ends signalling your turn. You plan on sitting on the middle seats. But, it's as if the world is against you, people rushed to sit on the middle seats, leaving no space for you. On cue, your friend pulled you to the end seats which are, by the way, the highest seats of the ride.
You silently cursed to yourself as you were seated at the end. Fear can be early seen on your face. Your friend sat on your right side. While on your left sat an unknown man who has the same expression as you. The man also looked at you and chuckled as he realized that the both of you are in the same situation. He says a small "good luck" to you before the ride starts.
You and the man were screaming your souls out all throughout the ride. As you were geatly scared for your life, you wanted to cling to your friend. Unfortunately, she has her hands up in the air. You retreat with your plan just as someone clings to you on your left side. Not caring for anything else but only for you dear life, you also held onto the man.
As the ride ended, you and the man shyly exchanged "Sorry and Thank you" to each other before you left the ride. Your friends decided to look at the pictures taken during the ride. When your pictures turned up, your face reddens as you see yourself clinging hard to the man. The both of you can be seen with your eyes closed and hands held tight.
"Ahem"
You turned to your left and saw the man standing right next to you. He also has the same red face as you.
"I wanted to properly apologize for suddenly holding on to you a while ago. I was scared since I fear heights and my friend who's sitting beside me refused to let me hold him. I'm sorry." the man explained.
"No, it's fine. Actually, I was also supposed to cling on to my friend but then I have no opportunity to put her arms down. She's enjoying the ride too much" you laughed.
"I'm sorry too. But also, thank you. If it weren't for you, I would probably be more scared" you added as you smiled at the man.
The man smiles as he heard your answer. You noticed how the man looked genuinely happy and started to relax when he heard your reply. He must have been nervous on approaching you. You also started to loosen up to this now familiar man and took this chance to introduce yourself to him.
"Well, it was nice meeting you. I hope that I get to see you again somewhere or sometime. I'm Y/N by the way."
"Wait, you're leaving already?"
"No! I'll be around here till midnight. My friends are probably looking for me right now, so I need to go. Who knows we might meet again later on a roller coaster." the both of you shivered at the thought.
"I would be happy to see you again but please not on a roller coaster" he laughs. "It was nice meeting you Y/N. I'm Mingyu."
