Kim Seokjin was born on December 4, 1992, in South Korea. He is the younger of two siblings. His father is a prominent CEO, and his mother was Miss Korea. He himself has said that he was a very cute baby. As he grew up, he loved watching cartoons, especially Pokémon, during his childhood. However, his mother wouldn't let him watch television if he sat in a bad posture. In his teens, he went on an exchange program to a school in Australia, where he greatly improved his English. The members have said that he is one of the most fluent speakers, but he admits to feeling somewhat insecure when speaking it. After finishing his basic education, he gravitated towards the arts and enrolled at Konkuk University, where he finally graduated in 2017 with a degree in art and acting. However, due to Bangtan's busy schedule, he couldn't attend his graduation party, which made him sad.
