A fairy's hope

Chapter 6

Winter couldn't believe it, the necklace had finally disappeared.

The matriarch remained silent while she decided what to do; when she heard the conversation, she thought the spell would never work.

"Should I thaw it?" asked the winter fairy.

"Crystal won't remember anything, she'll have to learn magic again, and the others will be curious about her."

"Waking her up could cause several problems"

Winter

"I promised her I would," he said seriously. "She's the only one who asked me for help when she found out she was going to die."

"It's too early to decide its fate; we must wait and choose what's best for the planet."

They didn't mention the subject again; the most important thing was the preparation of the young fairies, they were about to send them to Earth.

When the portal was completed, the matriarch held a party in the green forest.

He invited the sorcerers and fauns as a thank you for the help they gave to his planet.

For a week all the fairies put aside their tasks to prepare a grand banquet for the guests.

"You must tell me what humans are like," she said as she grew pink wisteria at the entrance to the forest.

"I heard they look like elves," one of her sisters remarked.

"Four hundred lightning bolts have passed!" he exclaimed. "I still can't believe it, it's a miracle!"

"I would have liked to say goodbye to my charges," sighed a fairy with yellow wings. "This time I'll do it after each visit."

"They all should," Winter interjected, walking towards them.

"What do you mean?" she asked, a little nervous.

Winter

"Apparently they have new conflicts and the children are bearing the brunt of it," she declared bluntly; her sisters needed to know.

Winter

"You're lucky, Lia, you're the only one who won't be going to Earth."

"Is it a dangerous planet?" another young fairy ventured to ask.

"Winter is exaggerating," the yellow-winged fairy interrupted. "It's normal for her to be influenced by comments from other races."

"She knows nothing about humans because she has never left this planet."

Winter

"I was just warning you," she smiled slightly. "There are wars going on; it won't be easy for the younger ones."

Winter entered the forest ignoring what her sisters were saying; there was no point in continuing to argue.

The commotion was short-lived; the words were drowned out by the fauns that crossed the portal of the old oak tree.

The matriarch then appeared, leading the sorcerers; a large group had gathered for the party.

The meal was served after some speeches.

The little fauns began to bleat out of boredom and climbed the trees.

His parents sang melodies hoping that it would liven up the discussions a bit.

"I should have stayed in my dwelling," Winter huffed; a small faun had chewed through half his cloak as he listened intently to a sorcerer.

"Infants are like wildflowers," declared a young sorcerer as he drank dew sweetened with honey.

"Especially your little Iurngy," she declared excitedly. "And I'm not just saying that because he's in my care; I know he'll be a brave warrior."

At the end of the party, no fairy could contain their joy.

The portal revealed a small fragment of the splendid firmament on Earth, even Winter was amazed.

The matriarch gave another speech to exhort her daughters and remind them of the most important rules.

The guests returned to their planets, filled with the joy of the fairies, who reminded them that they could visit them at any time.
