My mom exclaimed after "thoroughly" examining my shots. I shoot her an awkward smile.

She knows I hate it when I get praised in front of the Egan clan. It's her subtle way of saying "Grow up and be an Egan."

I agree with Momma C, Matteo! You're more confident and easier to work with now.

Luke, our clan's trusted photographer, and a good friend of mine, joined my mom in torturing me. He then showed me the copies of my shots.

I stopped and took a second look. I guess they're right. My photos turned out way better than expected.

No matter how you much you avoid your fate, or suppress your talent, it's in your blood. And now it slowly shows, Matteo.

I hate to agree but I think Luke's right on this one. It's in my blood. But am I ready to become an "Egan"?
