My Perfect Family

After offering the much-avoided prayer, we all dig in to a hearty breakfast prepared by dad. Aside from being an actor, he is also a chef.

Amazing, right? Definitely an Egan. My mom, on the other hand, also sidelines as a fashion designer whenever her schedule allows her to.

My brother Markus, the eldest, is a singer, the vocalist of the internationally famous boy group EXODUS. Yes, he's THAT Markus Egan.

If you have followed the show Top Models of Asia, you'd certainly know who Melissa Egan is. Our second born is a top model.

Margarette, is a musical virtuoso. She's famous as a violinist and a pianist, and is set to study at Juilliard.

Our youngest, Madeleine, is a ballerina and a figure skater. At 10, she already got invited to perform at Paris Opera Ballet.

Then me, the nobody. You know, when they said the black sheep of the family is usually the middle child, I could attest to that.

I bet I'm the only Egan in the universe who didn't have any talent. I'm sure I'm the only one who skipped acting workshops and voice lessons

The Egan institute, where all the Egans are sponsored to train, almost expelled me for skipping sessions and for my poor performance.

If not for my mom who insisted that I'm just a late bloomer, I wouldn't still be there, pretending to have a shot on being the next big one.

In this family, I'm the only one who hasn't performed publicly. Sometimes, I wonder where my Egan genes have gone to.

Trust me, I have asked my parents as well if I'm adopted. Unfortunately, I'm not. I'm a full-blooded Egan.

To be honest, I'd rather kill my time by reading tons of books or to write stories. I've always wanted to become a famous writer.

Sadly, it's not a part of the Egan's checklist of "How to be in the Limelight". So I just set that dream aside and still try to be an Egan.
