The word happiness

A word that is so awkward and lingers with me

I thought happiness would only be seen when everything was in place.

Yeah, that's what I thought

So I thought it would be really far away

I was surprised because it was closer than I thought.

Happiness is a word, an emotion

It was right next to me

I was just looking somewhere else, pathetically

Happiness.

Everyone is close by.

Don't think too far ahead

Not everyone is happy or sad or anything like that.

Everyone has feelings

It's both happy and sad

Don't be hard on yourself

Find happiness

Not from afar

Up close.

"Don't be afraid of being alone."

I'm afraid I'll be alone.

I'm afraid I'll be struggling with loneliness

Forcing a smile in a not-so-pleasant situation

To please and to be mindful of others' moods

There's no need to buy it.

Rather than maintaining a relationship by being aware of others like that

Someone who fits me well and understands me

It's much better to meet someone who empathizes with you.

It's okay to show your true self

If you look for it, there are plenty of good connections and people.
