Ughhh! I hate PE class. It's always the athletic people having fun while wimps like me get to sit on the bleachers doing nothing

I'm tasked to take points of the volleyball game that the boys will play as soon as the other students arrive.

Honestly, I don't even know how scoring works... I'll probably ask someone I'm comfortable with.

Except, everybody that's playing is an obnoxious person who don't take people like me seriously.

Hey, Y/N! If my team loses, you're going to do all my homework next week!

One of those people is Jeon Jungkook. A well-known Taekwando player and infamous a**hole.

I'm not participating in any of your bets, Jeon!

Jungkook laughs.

Whatever, Y/N. You're a killjoy, anyway.

Everybody at earshot laughs at what he said.

It's always like this. Me being the object for humiliation and everybody else just watching and laughing.

This is my high school life.

Jimin

Hey, that's enough. Let's get the game started!

As usual, Park Jimin is late. He's one of the popular volleyball varsities so I'm not really surprised

Popular people don't respect other people's time. They only care about themselves.

Jimin

Are you checking attendance?

It takes me a while to register that he was talking to me. As soon as I realize, I fix myself on my seat.

Oh, yeah, um, you're late.

Jimin

*Chuckles* Yeah, sorry about that. Got a little issue I had to handle.

I hum in acknowledgement. All they know is excuses. But they never hold themselves accountable for their actions.

Jimin

Um, do you know how scoring works?

Y/N

Um.. not really.

Jimin

Oh well, just add a point to the opposite team whenever someone doesn't catch a ball, okay?

As quickly as he came, he runs to his spot in the court. A few high fives from the other players and a salute from Jungkook.

Ugh, I never knew a ball flying back and forth could be so boring. Why do people enjoy this again?

*Laughs* Holy s**t, Jimin!

F**k! Ow!

My sight becomes blurry and I'm dizzy. Did I just get hit? Ugh, this is why I hate sports.

I can hear footsteps running towards me as I cradle my head in my hands. I feel a pair of strong hands hold my cheeks.

Jimin

Are you okay?

Y/N

Huh?

Jimin

S**t, I'm sorry. Please ride on my back, I'll carry you to the clinic.

Y/N

Oh! No, seriously, it's okay! No need, it was just ball, hehe. I mean, I might get a concussion or something but, no need for a back ride!

Jimin

Are you sure? I'm so sorry, I'll go get you some ice, does that sound okay? I'm really sorry, I didn't mean to hit you.

Jimin

Stay there, I'll get the ice, I'm really sorry!

And with that, he's running across the court to get some ice.

The teams dispersed, probably taking a break for playing for so long. A few of them were looking at me with pity, while the others laughed.

Tears started to prick my eyes when I saw the laughing students. Am I really that irrelevant? To the point where my pain is funny?

Jimin

Hey I'm back and—oh my god! Are you crying? S**t, I'm really sorr—

No, no, no! It's okay, it's not you, sorry.

I take the ice pack from Jimin's hands and wipe away my tears. He might laugh at me as well.

Jimin

You don't have to apologize for crying, Y/N. The impact was really hard, I understand.

Y/N

*smiles softly* Thanks, Jimin.

The coach blows his whistle and urges the boys to go take their showers before the next class starts.

Jimin stands up and smiles at me before waving goodbye. Why is he so nice?

Could it be...

...That he's not like the others boys in my class?

My heart beats faster at the possibility.
