Ep 9. The Privy Counsellor

Irene had no choice but to let the day pass by like that.

She wanted to teach Seulgi to dress up in various ways to make her look like she belonged in the Kingdom.

But Seulgi seemed to know all of what's supposed to be taught...

The sun just set and Irene went back to her room, wondering what to do with Seulgi.

Irene

Should I just let her leave? Who knows what she'll do in the future...

Joy

Why are you even hesitating? That's not like you.

Irene

Y-you... How long have you been here?

Joy

How deep are your thoughts that you didn't even notice me?

Irene

You should leave. Let's talk tomorrow.

Joy

Tomorrow?

Joy

I just came back today and you want me to talk to you tomorrow? Aren't you being rude to your privy counsellor?

Irene

Fine, I'll leave if you don't want to.

Joy

Why? To go and see her?

Joy

I understand that it's been years since you've interacted with other people, but you shouldn't get attached with a stranger.

Irene

Stop. I don't want to hear anything about it.

Joy

She might have come here to get rid of you---

Irene

And you think I haven't thought about that? Stop talking and leave for now...

Joy

You won't even listen to my advice. When will I ever serve my purpose as your counsellor... Fine, I'll leave.

Joy left with a heavy heart.

She's been a privy counsellor for years but never really got to do her job.

The queen had been deciding on her own for the couple of years, without considering anybody else's opinion.

On her way out, Joy gets to actually run into Seulgi.

Seulgi

Uhh, hi? I...

Joy

I finally got to meet you.

Joy

If you're on your way to see her, just do it tomorrow. She's not in the mood to talk to anyone...

Joy went on her way without introducing herself.

Seulgi

Bad mood? Again?

Seulgi

I wonder what she's upset about this time...
