Erin

We were both catching our breaths. I don't even know why we had to run. I mean Karina was willing to give us space.

Jake

“Sorry, I just... you know I can't talk to you in a very open field,” I looked at her apologetically.

Erin

I close my eyes and nodded. I still can't talk. I dropped myself to the ground. My knees are really trembling. I'm not used to running.

Jake

“You okay?”

Erin

“Yeah...” was all I managed to say.

Jake

I sat beside her on the ground. Not really close. Maybe ten inches. “You really got to get used to this...”. I bit my lip.

Jake

I shouldnt have blurted it out.

Erin

“What do you mean?”

Jake

“Y-you'll know. I can't tell you right now.” How can I tell her someone as famous as me likes her? But of course I'm not saying ME. Him.

Erin

“Hey, what is it that you want to talk about?” I placed my palms behind me, the front of it facing the ground for support.

Jake

I watched her stretch her neck. “Your mysterious guy has been absent...”

Erin

Omg I forgot about him because of Karina!

Jake

“I wonder what's inside your mind,” I tell her.

Erin

“N-nothing!” I said. “What's up?”

Jake

I cleared my throat. “He wants to apologize but you know, he can't go.”

Erin

I feel sad all of a sudden.

Jake

“I'm here though.”

Erin

What he said made me look towards his direction. I gave him a small smile, “Do you eat ice cream?”

Jake

“Sure.”
