Some of you may know what day it is today, but for those who don't, I'll explain.

On April 16, 2014, the Sewol ferry, a regular passenger ship between Incheon and Jeju operated by Cheonghaejin Marine Co., capsized and sank near Gwanmaedo Island (Maenggol Channel) in Jindo County, Jeollanam-do. 304 of the 476 passengers (approximately 250 from Danwon High School) died or went missing. The accident was exacerbated by a lack of safety awareness.

It is the second-highest number of casualties among maritime accidents in South Korea.
