USING LOCATION WORDS

Structure :

Simply add the location word after the item/subject followed by the location marker 에.

위 - on top, above
밑 - below, down, under
옆 - side, next to
속/안 - inside, in
앞 - in front
뒤 - behind

EXAMPLE:

(LOCATION IS THE TOPIC OF THE SENTENCE)

책상 위에 연필이 있어요.
There is a pencil on top of the table.

책상 밑에 열쇠가 있어요.
There is a key under the table.

건물 옆에 사람이 있어요.
There is a person next to the building.

(SUBJECT IS THE TOPIC OF THE SENTENCE)

엔하이픈은 내 마음 속에 있어요.
Enhypen is inside my heart. (♡~)

여자는 학교 앞에 있어요.
The girl is in front of the school.

고양이는 의자 뒤에 있어요.
The cat is behind the chair.


NOTE::::

I have posted the difference between subject markers and topic markers. *~*

As you can see, in our first three examples, the location is our topic, so we just used 이/가 for the subjects 연필, 열쇠, 사람.

In the next examples, the subjects (엔하이픈, 여자, 고양이) became our topic, so we used 은/는.

Again, 이/가 is the subject marker and 은/는 is the topic marker.
