Just when Baby became a teenager, her big brother Kai at 16 moved to Seoul to start training as a K-Pop artist. Baby missed Kai a lot and so she begged her parents to transfer her to a school in Seoul. They relented to her wish when Kai was about a month away from turning 18. They felt Kai would be responsible and mature enough to take care of both himself and his younger sister so they purchased a 2-bedroom apartment near Baby’s high school.
Big brother Kai was very protective of his little sister that he would walk her to and from school each day. Unfortunately, for Baby she ended up with no school friends as she was envied by the girls because she was too pretty. And the boys at school were too afraid to talk to Baby because of her big brother Kai. Baby surprisingly was not worried about having no school friends though. She never actually felt lonely as she always had her big brother Kai!
Sadly, the day before Kai’s 18th birthday, their parents died in a boating accident. Kai was especially devastated as he had never experienced such a tragedy before. However, Baby felt it was her fault and that somehow she was to blame for bringing such misfortune in Kai’s life that she wanted to run away! Baby wrote a note to Kai saying she was sorry for bringing bad luck to him and his parents and that it was better for her to just disappear so no one else dies. She packed her backpack with clothes, snacks and money she had saved over the last 12 months and quietly left their apartment while Kai was asleep.
