Nam Woo-hyun's Choices in Sixteen Songs

남우현 열여섯 곡에 담긴 선택들

The news that a single album contains sixteen songs immediately brings to mind the listening order. While one could start with the title track, another approach is to follow the album from beginning to end and examine the connections between the songs. Nam Woohyun’s second full-length album, 2X8, feels like an album that offers ample room to linger and explore. I am more curious about the choices made within it than the fact that there are many songs.

Released at 6 PM on October 14, this album contains a total of 16 songs, including the title track "DEVIL," and Nam Woo-hyun participated in the lyrics, composition, and arrangement of all tracks. Furthermore, unlike cases where he only contributed his name to one or two songs, his perspective on the album as a whole is also drawing attention. However, since the nature of the music cannot be determined solely by the scope of his participation, it seems more appropriate to examine what he emphasized in each song one by one.

The album also includes "Boys and Girls," featuring members of INFINITE. It is impressive that the members' voices coexist within a full-length album bearing an individual's name. Therefore, I would like to see how the stories told alone connect with the scenes created together. Rather than quickly picking a representative track, I think it would be a good way to approach this album to fully experience all sixteen songs and then decide on the passage that lingers the longest.
