What was the reason for changing the historical setting in season 2 of ‘Gyeongseong Creature’?

Director Jeong Dong-yoon introduced season 2 of "Gyeongseong Creature" as "a story about the remnants of the times that still remain in 2024 and the reunion of Ho-jae and Chae-ok, who resemble Tae-sang." He explained, "I wanted to tell a story that penetrates the past and the present. The appealing point was that we thought about what it would be like if we thought about the remnants that still remain, rather than stopping at that era. I wanted to talk about how many things have developed and improved in the 79 years (from 1945 to the present), but there are still people who commit terrible acts for personal gain. I also wanted to deal with the irony of the times that makes it easy to bow our heads or compromise."
