A feast of memories

Deep into the night, stars dot the dark night sky. To observe them more closely, I gently fold back the curtains blocking the starlight. I brush the snow that has settled proudly on the windowsill with my bare hands and close the window again to block the cold winter wind that suddenly rushes in. Beyond the window, the light sources are clearly visible. I wonder if he's doing well... What if he's sick... All sorts of miserable scenarios are playing out in my head. Perhaps taking pity on Yeo-ju, her favorite scent rolls into the room. Yeo-ju, who has been sensitive to scents since childhood, flinches at the sweet scent she hasn't felt in a long time. This scent... somehow felt familiar. In that moment, memories of him flashed before my eyes. Despite the odor I found truly repulsive and detestable, I was embraced in his arms, allowing him to cover the perfume that lingered on my skin. I really want to see him... This is the heroine who feels it anew.

‘Tiring tiring’

A longing vibration shatters the calm atmosphere of the room. The heroine, who had been fully absorbing the captivating scent, is startled and hurriedly grabs the vibrating accomplice, her cell phone, to check the caller. Her eyebrows, slightly furrowed in embarrassment, widen as soon as she sees the caller, and a lively smile begins to spread across her lips. She smiles and answers the phone.

" oh..!! "

The female protagonist thought it was just a simple voice call. When she saw her shabby appearance on the screen, her eyes widened and she turned off the camera like lightning.

“What? Why did you turn off the camera?”

“No.. What if you video call me without warning..!”

“I made the video call because I wanted to see your face…”

“I’ll fix your phone, so please wait until then.”

I fan my face, flushed with embarrassment, to cool it down. I calm myself down by taking sips of the water I'd prepared beforehand to quell the excitement that was gripping my heart. I place my phone on the table, secure it with a stand to keep it from falling over, and then turn on the camera.

“Hey, how have you been?”

“Well... it was just like that! It’s not like I had a hard time or anything...”

"Thank goodness there's nothing difficult. What time is it over there?"

“Oh.. It’s already 12 o’clock!”

“Oh my... Did I call too late at night? Should I call again tomorrow?”

“Hey, it’s not that late by my standards.. But is there another reason you’re calling?”

“ … Lady, I have something to say.”

“Huh? What? Please tell me.”

“I… I don’t think I’ll be able to contact the heroine for a while.”
