14 THE DEFIANCE

While fixing himself, Paulo couldn't help but ask Justin about the incident where he was tortured.

"How come you were able to save me here? I just saw you on that monitor and you looked like you were about to die. You scared me so much, Jah,"Paulo honestly said.

"It was all an act, Sejun. I have to make Julian and my father believe that I'm still imprisoned. But the truth is, just yesterday Prof. Hong and Tatang Robin helped me get free. When Tatang found out that Julian was planning to videotape me and show it to you, we immediately set everything up,"Justin explained.

"Then, how were you able to come inside here? Earlier when I lost consciousness, all the scientists were here. Did you have a hard time dealing with them?"Paulo asked again.

Justin just smiled at Paulo's question because he remembered his foolishness earlier.

"Nah. That's just basic to me. Have you forgotten that I look like someone? I just have to pretend to be Julian and command them to leave this place so I can let you go,"Justin said and smiled.

"You have never failed to impress me, Justin," Paulo said in his mind.

"But on my way here, I passed by the control room that was open. I saw on the monitor Josh and Ken crying because...Stell was gone,"Justin said.

"I badly want to go there but I don't want you to be the one to get hurt, Sejun. That's why I rushed here,"Justin said and then closed the room.

They started walking away from that hellish room, but Justin stopped walking that made Paulo confused.

"What's wrong, Jah?" Paulo asked.

"You have to go there on my behalf, Sejun," Justin said.

"What do you mean? You're not coming?"Paul asked.

Justin just shook his head gently in response.

"I...I'm too embarrassed to go there, Sejun. I'm still feeling guilty," Justin said frankly.

"Yes..."Paulo was about to reprimand Justin for his behavior, but Justin just smiled at him.

"I'm fine, Sejun. But I know Josh and Ken would not be too pleased to see me. Besides, I still have to do something myself," Justin said.

"And that is?" Paulo asked in worry.

"Confronting my father..." Justin said and walked away, leaving Paulo dumbfounded.

Justin composed himself before entering his father's dungeon. The chairman's surprised reaction welcomed him.

"I already told you to take a rest, Julian. Do you still have something to say?" Chairman De Dios asked.

"Why did I do so bad on my past life to have a father like him who can't even distinguish his own sons?" Justin thought in fury.

"I am here to tell you that Stellvester Ajero is dead," Justin said coldly to imitate Julian.

"Hah, I'm not surprised. He is the weakest elite among all of you. I am still wondering how the hell did he become the third elite with such frail attitude," Chairman De Dios said mockingly.

Justin clenched his fists upon hearing his father's remarks. Good thing that the chairman couldn't see it as he was busy assembling his gun. As soon as he put the bullets and inserted the magazine, the chairman aimed it in front of Justin.

But Justin didn't even flinch nor shed a hint of fear. He had to face his father head on.

"Father, what is really your dream?" Justin asked, making the chairman put down the gun.

"Hmm, why did you suddenly got curious about that, Julian?" Chairman De Dios asked.

"Did you know what's my dream, father?" Justin asked in return while slowly walking closer to the chairman.

The chairman couldn't understand why did he got intimidated by his son's approach.

"Julian had never done this to me. He is always under my command," Chairman De Dios thought.

"My dream is for you to appreciate me, even for once," Justin said.

"He is not Julian..." Chairman finally realized.

"Father, I was still hoping that you will change. But now, I think it's hopeless," Justin coldly said.

"Justin?! Why are you here?! Who let you escape?" Chairman De Dios asked.

Justin only responded with a chuckle. He is getting satisfied in seeing his father quiver.

"We are just getting started, Chairman De Dios," Justin thought, a sign that he is now disowning his father.

"No matter how much you tie me down, you can never use me for your schemes, Chairman De Dios," Justin answered and walked out.

The chairman who was left dumbfounded began to feel rage as his son triggered him. He dialed Prof. Rabedee's number and called him.

"Chairman, I'm at your service," Prof. Rabedee said.

"Don't let them escape alive!" the chairman said furiously.

As soon as the call ended, a loud alarm went off again. All of the passages to and from the restricted building were closed.

Everything is settled for the last defiance. Despite the grieving of the elites, they have to divert the attention to the chaos.

"Prof. Hong, they're coming," A'tin said.

Before they could run, they were already surrounded by Chairman De Dios' forces. The four elites, A'tin, and Prof. Hong moved closer to each other.

"Prof. Hong, what a pleasant surprise," Chairman De Dios greeted in sarcasm.

"Chairman, please stop this," Prof. Hong calmly said but she was only answered by a loud laughter.

"I don't understand Prof. Hong. Why did you have to betray me? I thought we are riding on the same boat!" Chairman De Dios furiously asked.

But Prof. Hong didn't respond. A'tin, on the other hand, couldn't contain herself seeing the person who killed her older sister.

"You even brought someone with you. I believe your name is A'tin Era, sister of Aurum Era. Your fiery expression really resembles her," Chairman De Dios said.

A'tin is trying her best to contain herself from bursting out. She stood up straight and walk a bit forward to Chairman De Dios.

"My sister, Aurum, really liked you Chairman De Dios. She treated you like her own father, because we don't have one," A'tin said.

"I have to try this first," A'tin thought. She was thinking of taming the monster inside Chairman De Dios.

"My sister always tells me stories about you when she was still alive. You were the best chairman back then. You have treasured every student and helped them grow. Even those who are F Class students like me received fair treatment under your supervision," A'tin continued.

"But everything drastically changed when you became obsessed on your experiments. You became a monster, and you even killed the people who have treated you as a family," A'tin said with sorrow in her voice.

"What happened to you, Chairman? If this story wasn't told by my sister, I would not believe any of it. But I know that you can still change Chairman. Just like how you used to," A'tin said.

Prof. Hong observed Chairman De Dios expression, and it seemed working well. Their plan is working!

But, a female voice interrupted A'tin.

"Stop that nonsense! Chairman, don't tell me you're actually believing that kid's bedtime story?" Prof. Rabedee said.

Chairman De Dios took a glance at Prof. Rabedee. He feels confused right now.

"Why are you going to give up, Chairman? We are so close to your lifetime dream! You can do more experiments and clone humans as much as you want. Chairman, haven't you already forgetting that we started this experiment to revive your late wife? We are so close!" Prof. Rabedee shouted.

Upon hearing these words, the chairman got triggered again about his deceased wife. His head started aching due to the trauma that he has been fighting.

"Chairman! He's brainwashing you! Stop listening to her!" A'tin retaliated.

While Prof. Rabedee and A'tin are shouting against each other, Chairman De Dios burst out and started shooting guns everywhere.

"Shut up!" Chairman screamed while shooting the gun.

A'tin and Prof. Hong immediately hid behind the clones of the Paulo, Justin, Josh, and Ken.

Yes, they are with the clones all this time. The clones were prepared since then by Prof. Hong and President Hood but they didn't know that this will be useful now.

The chairman finally calmed down as he ran out of bullets to fire. Some of his men got injured, but Prof. Rabedee found a safe spot to hide.

A'tin and Prof. Hong was also safe, but A'tin panicked when Justin's clone excreted blood.

"Don't tell me he is..." A'tin thought in shock.

"Justin!" Ken, Josh, and Paulo shouted upon arriving at the scene.

The three elites were back from unlocking the passages of the building while Prof. Hong and A'tin distract Chairman De Dios. But Justin is not part of their plan as they have not seen him ever since Paulo was saved by him.

Seeing the Justin's body full of blood, Chairman De Dios felt weak.

"What have I done?! I killed my son!" Chairman De Dios thought anxiously.
