[All year round] shining stars.

I met a star.

(This is a fantasy novel that twists the fairy tale princess and prince into reality.)

The day I met Dae-hwi was a terribly unlucky day.

On that unlucky day, I was stuck at every traffic light on my way to school, was late, and made a lot of mistakes.

The cloudy sky, which was my favorite, almost white, became even cloudier and started to rain. Luckily, I had brought an umbrella, so I was walking home with my bag on my shoulder.

And then, at the crossroads where there was a tree that I particularly liked, I met him.

The wind was blowing quite coldly and the rain was getting heavier, so I was shivering a little under the tree, drenched in the rain, as if I was getting goosebumps.

Normally, I would have ignored him and passed him by quietly, but that day, it was difficult to ignore him, his eyes as clear as stars under his favorite tree.
Well, I don't know why I am like that.
In some ways, it felt like meeting a princess from a fairy tale I used to read as a child. Her eyes, which seemed to be adorned with sparkling stars and transparent pupils, were exactly like the eyes of a princess I had imagined.

Maybe that's why I reached out to him as if possessed.

"Isn't it cold there? I can take you to the convenience store in front. Should I put it on for you?"

I asked with a faint smile. The answer was,

"Uh...then I'm grateful."

It was acceptance.
He smiled brightly, as if relieved, and took my hand as he stood up.

And then, as we walked to the convenience store, which was about three minutes away, the kid started talking about this and that. Things like his name and the school he went to. It had been a long time since I'd had a conversation with someone my age, so it was quite difficult to keep the conversation going.

His name is Lee Dae-hwi.
He says he goes to high school in 00-dong.
I think I've heard that name a few times. I heard that there are a lot of good-looking students at 0☆ High School in that neighborhood, so I think he probably goes to that high school. That's why I vaguely recognized the name when I heard it.
Well, it would be hard not to be famous with that appearance. With those dense features and long legs that fit into a face the size of my palm, it's strange that she's not popular.

Objectively, he has a handsome face and a nice personality, which is very cute. Although he is a little awkward.

Still, maybe it was because it was cute to see her smiling with those pretty eyes closed and talking about this and that, or maybe it was because it had been so long since I felt this warm, but I couldn't help but chuckle.

Welcome.
Daehwi and I entered the convenience store together, along with Alba's voice.

"Ugh, it was really cold!
"Hey, thank you for bringing me that, but should I buy you something warm?"

He said he would buy me a warm drink as soon as I entered. He was a pretty nice guy. With a faint smile.

"Yeah, I'm fine."

After giving a positive answer, I slowly walked towards the warm beverage section. I'd stopped by a convenience store in the rain before and had something warm to eat. It was one of my happiest memories. In the pouring rain and the silence of the convenience store, what I was holding wasn't a pen, but my cheek, resting my chin on it. That alone was enough to make me happy.

##Yuja, is this it? My memory is hazy. I pick up something similar to what I ate back then.

I asked Dae-hwi.

"I chose. What about you?"

"I just chose it too."

She follows me, holding a hot chocolate and scurrying around, as if she's already chosen. Sparkling. Her eyes are full of stars.
I wasn't really planning on thinking about it for too long, so I just grabbed a yuzu drink from the warm beverage section.
-Beep
It has been calculated.
I sat down in a long row of seats by the window, leaving behind the sound of the barcode and the voices of the part-timers. Just like that time, the pouring rain filled my vision. I rested my chin on my hand and drank, watching the rain fall.

Actually, it's been a while since I've been to a convenience store like this. I've always been busy, so the last time I went was when I was in middle school. It's been years since I've been here, because my parents told me it was useless.

For the first time in a long time, something warm fills my heart. It's a vague feeling, hard to describe.

It's like when I felt leisure and that ambiguity in the rain, but a little different.

Because right now, next to me, there is a child who is watching the rain and smiling leisurely, like a star beautifully carved into a piece.

Amazing. Lee Dae-hwi is an amazing kid in a positive way.

By the way, it really shines. And not just the eyes.
