Guardian "Oh my, it looks like he really likes you, teacher. He’s never usually this attached!"
Phew, and that wraps up today’s afternoon appointments.
Ever since I was little, I’ve had this strange ability to make animals warm up to me easily,
so I graduated from vet school to make use of it,,,,,
and I live each day grateful just to be able to pay my credit card bill, rather than chasing money ^^
Hana 'Today I'm going straight for tteokbokki and Honey Combo'
It was a light-footed walk home from work.
?? "Kiiing... kiing"
When I heard crying from somewhere, I went to check it out,
and found a small cardboard box in front of a utility pole in a dark, deserted alley.
I looked inside to see what the sound was,
and there was a tiny black puppy, unable to even open its eyes,
crying kiing kiing, as if it were hungry.
Hana "Oh my, are you hurt? Are you hungry?"
When I picked up the crying puppy, it was only about palm-sized.
The puppy seemed hungry, wriggling around as it cried.
Still, I was a veterinarian, so I couldn’t just leave this cute little life alone, and I brought it home with me.
I mixed the puppy formula I’d brought from the clinic with warm water and started feeding it.
The puppy, which looked like a black bean, started eating happily.
Hana "Aren’t you just way too cute? Eat slowly and enjoy it"
Watching the puppy wag its tail while eating was so adorable.
Hana "Eat a lot"
Once its belly was full, the little puppy started following me around and asking me to play.
Hana "No! I’m going to take a shower now. Ssh, wait here"
The black puppy seemed to understand me and sat down with its tail drooping.
Hana "You’re really smart, huh?"
Puppy "Woof woof!" (wagging its tail)
Hana "I’m going to shower, so be good and wait here, okay?"

After washing up with warm water, I started to feel pleasantly drowsy, as if the fatigue from the day was melting away.
Hana "Why am I so sleepy? I’m sleepy…"
Before I knew it, I had flopped straight onto the bed.
The puppy trotted after me and lay down beside me.
Hana "You little rascal, if you follow just anyone, you’re in big trouble"
As if answering me, the puppy kept licking my face.
Puppy "Lick lick"
Hana "Hey, that tickles! Where did this brat learn to do that to unnie? hahaha"
Unable to resist how cute it was, I rubbed my cheek against the puppy and hugged it tight.
Puppy "Kiiing kiing"
It struggled to get free, but it couldn’t overcome my strength.
Hana "You’re just too cute. Want to live with unnie?"
If this adorable little creature stayed with me in this lonely space where I lived alone,
I thought my boring days might get a little better.
Puppy "Woof!"
The puppy barked as if answering me.
Hmm, then I guess I should name you first.
What would be better..?
After a long, serious bout of 고민, the name I blurted out was
Hana "Myeongmyeong??"
"Good! From now on, you’re Myeongmyeong?"
Myeongmyeong "Nngnng.. woof! Woof!"
It seemed displeased, but the name Myeongmyeong just popped into my head perfectly,
so Myeongmyeong it is!!
Hana "Myeongmyeong, unnie is sleepy now… let’s sleep together"
As expected of a smart puppy, Myeongmyeong seemed to understand right away
and settled down beside my pillow, staring at me.
Hana "Myeongmyeong, let’s get along well, okay? Nice to meet you"
I said, looking at Myeongmyeong.
Then Myeongmyeong suddenly came over and licked the tip of my nose.
Myeongmyeong "Lick lick"
I was startled by the sudden licking attack.
Hana "Hey!! Now I’m covered in drool!! hahaha"
Myeongmyeong looked a little embarrassed and went back beside the pillow to stare at me.
Hana "Hahaha, you like unnie, huh?"
It must have been time for bed, so I petted Myeongmyeong once and turned off the mood light.
Probably because I was so exhausted, I fell asleep the moment I closed my eyes,,
I was startled by the rustling in my sleep and reached out toward where Myeongmyeong was.
Hana "Myeongmyeong.. unnie… I’m here….."
Wasn’t Myeongmyeong supposed to be a small puppy..?
What I touched with my hand was a small, soft hand.

but too sleepy to care, I just patted the tiny thing and fell asleep as it was.
