In my third year of middle school, I had no common dreams, no passions, no talents. Music was the only thing that sparked my passion to learn. It was my dream, one I proudly proclaimed, despite the harsh criticism from my family. Music was an opaque thing with no clear future, but I bet everything on it.

โ€œCrazyโ€ฆ I passed..? Gosh!!!โ€

Driven by the single-minded desire to pursue music, I moved from the countryside to Seoul and started living on my own. My parents covered my deposit, monthly rent, water, and electricity bills, so I couldn't ask them for tuition. As soon as school and the academy ended, I worked late into the night, earning enough to cover my tuition. That's how I lived, so passing the exam felt more overwhelming than anything else.

This acceptance wasn't just any acceptance. It wasn't just any local music school, but Seoul, the metropolitan area. It was the most prestigious and top-tier music school in Seoul: BTS Music Academy. Even my parents, who were so opposed to music, knew about BTS Music Academy.

I've been proudly celebrating my freshman year at BTS Music Academy for a couple of months now, and I've finally found someone I'm desperately wanting to be friends with. Min Yoongi, a senior in the same composition department. He's top-notch in his class, and he's known for being blunt, but I'm determined to become close with him, no matter what.

This was the kind of person Senior Min Yoongi was. He was the kind of person I'd never say more than a couple of words to, no matter how hard I tried to befriend him. He was, as rumors spread around school, a blunt person. He wouldn't even read or look at a single text message unless it had something to do with it. The more this happened, the more I grew resentful.

For a few days, I'd been flirting with Min Yoongi, sending him a few texts, and even begging him to have lunch with me. Min Yoongi, who'd always refused, finally agreed to the rare occasional suggestion of having lunch together.

โ€œWhy donโ€™t you come quickly?โ€

โ€œAh, senior! I came in exactly 6 minutes?โ€

โ€œItโ€™s late.โ€

โ€œYouโ€™re being too harsh, senior.โ€

โ€œWhat do you want to eat?โ€

โ€œIโ€™ve never eaten anything other than the cafeteriaโ€ฆโ€

โ€œPork belly call?โ€

"call!"

It was the first time I had lunch with senior Min Yoongi outside of school. I still can't forget that red-skinned pork belly, and I vowed to have a drink with him there someday. My goal and challenge was to become close enough with senior Min to be able to drink whenever he asked.

I found Senior Min while organizing my writing... It's been a while, but Senior Min is still a bit awkward to put out there๐Ÿฅฒ
