"I heard that the midterm exam paper and answer sheet were found in Kim Seokjin's bag yesterday."
"Isn't it strange?"
Yoon-ki and Ji-eun witnessed Ha-yeon's behavior during break before school ended, and the test was found in Seok-jin's bag during the final assembly that day. Anyone could see this as a suspicious development.
"··· That's right."
“But why would Baek Ha-yeon do something like that?”
"He doesn't care about being number one in the whole school, and he doesn't even have a close relationship with Kim Seokjin."
"It's not me."
All Yoon-ki and Ji-eun saw was Ha-yeon stuffing a thick piece of paper into Seok-jin's bag. But that alone wasn't enough to pin Ha-yeon as the culprit.

"Kim Seokjin, are you okay?"

Seokjin, who was studying, turned to Seoyoung and nodded with a smile at her question. Nevertheless, when Seoyoung's expression turned sour, as if worried, Seokjin smiled as if he were truly okay.
"Anyway, I couldn't even look at the problem properly and I didn't even look at the answer sheet."
"Well, I guess it would be okay if I got one point wrong."
Seokjin was the one who was the most upset and frustrated, but he comforted Seoyoung, who was more hurt than he was, by making jokes as if nothing had happened.

- "Oh, I went to the teacher's office yesterday because he was caught."
Yun-gi and Ji-eun, who had come out to throw away trash at the recycling bin as per their homeroom teacher's errand, exchanged glances at the sound of voices coming from next to the bin, then put the trash down and walked closer to where the sound was coming from.

- "Do you want your daughter to live her whole life feeling guilty for framing the top student in the school?"
It was Hayeon. Baek Hayeon, the second-highest-ranking student in the entire school, in the same class as Seokjin. Ji-eun and Yoon-gi, startled by the realization that the voice belonged to Hayeon, quickly leaned against the wall, covered their mouths, and began eavesdropping on Hayeon's conversation.
- "Okay, stop before I blow it all up."
- "Oh, I'm going to die from embarrassment, so stop."
When Ha-yeon shouted in a tearful voice, Yoon-ki and Ji-eun looked at each other in confusion and then focused on Ha-yeon again.
"Oh, really..."
After Ha-yeon hung up the phone, she stood still for a while and then came towards them. Ji-eun and Yoon-gi, who had been eavesdropping, were startled and ran to the trash recycling center, pretending to throw away the trash, thus avoiding the crisis.

The next day
"Baek Ha-yeon, let's talk."
To confirm the facts, Ji-eun and Yoon-gi went to Class 3 immediately after the closing ceremony and grabbed Ha-yeon as she came out into the hallway. Then, they took the bewildered Ha-yeon and headed to the place she'd spoken to on the phone the day before.
"Do you have anything to say to me?"
"You did that?"
"Why did you suddenly call me out and say, 'Did I do that?'" Ji-eun was quietly staring at herself when Yoon-gi, Seok-jin's friend, stood next to her. Ha-yeon looked at Yoon-gi and realized what Ji-eun was trying to say.
"··· What are you talking about?"
“Are you the one who put the test paper in Kim Seokjin’s bag?”
Whether she was surprised, flustered, or indifferent, Hayeon's expression was impossible to read. She simply stared at the two standing before her.
"··· How did you know?"
"I heard you calling here yesterday."
Ji-eun crossed her arms and looked at Ha-yeon with a haughty air. Ha-yeon stared at Ji-eun without any reaction, and after a moment, opened her mouth.
"Then I understand this too."
"My dad told me to do it."
"I didn't do it because I wanted to, I didn't want to."
"But what you did was right."
"Yeah, that's what I did."
Ha-yeon nodded as if she wanted to quickly finish her conversation with Ji-eun and Yoon-gi, and quickly admitted her mistake. The ones who were dumbfounded by this were Yoon-gi and Ji-eun.
“Why did you do it? You could have just not done it.”
"You didn't mean to say that because you wanted to be number one in the entire school?"
Hayeon, who was as confused as Seokjin on the inside but pretended not to be, and instead acted confidently, began to break down and laugh incomprehensibly at Ji-eun's one word about first place.
"Hey, I'm not jealous of first place."
"Just for second place, how many kids are under me?"
