Kim Dong-hyun and Han Dong-min arrived in a deserted alley.
Han Dong-min: “Who the hell are you?”
Kim Dong-hyun: “I told you before. I’m your brother.”
One of Han Dong-min’s eyebrows rose.
Han Dong-min: “Brother? Lady Jaehee doesn’t have a brother.”
Kim Dong-hyun leaned lazily against a streetlamp, folding his arms.
He stared fixedly at Han Dong-min, who seemed to be looking at him with obvious dislike, then let out a snort of laughter.
Seeing that, Han Dong-min let out the same incredulous laugh.
Han Dong-min: “....Ha..what the hell are you, seriously?”
Kim Dong-hyun thought for a moment before answering.
Kim Dong-hyun: “...You could say we’re bound by fate.”
Kim Dong-hyun gave a sly little smile.
That smile grated on Han Dong-min’s nerves.
Han Dong-min’s patience was starting to run thin.
Han Dong-min: “...Are you really just messing with me? Fate?”
Han Dong-min stepped closer, his eyes cold.
Han Dong-min: “Lady Jaehee is my fiancée. I’d appreciate it if you would not come any closer.”
His tone shifted back from informal speech to honorifics.
He was clearly drawing a line and warning him off.
Kim Dong-hyun: “Oh? So you’re the fiancé who studied in Japan for five years?”
Kim Dong-hyun also pushed himself off the streetlamp and took a step forward.
Kim Dong-hyun: “Well now, what a shame. It seems you’re one step too late.”
The tension between the two reached a boiling point.
Neither of them looked away as they stared each other down.
Then, in the end, Han Dong-min looked away first.
In Kim Dong-hyun’s unblinking gaze, madness and emptiness coexisted.
Han Dong-min: “....There’s no need to be this childish.”
The corner of Han Dong-min’s mouth lifted slightly.
Han Dong-min: “Our families are preparing for the marriage quickly. Fate or whatever else, Lady Jaehee is my fiancée, and she will be my wife.”
Kim Dong-hyun’s gaze wavered slightly.
Seeing that, Han Dong-min let out a scoff, just like Dong-hyun had earlier.
Han Dong-min: “Heh, do you understand now?”
Leaving those words behind, Han Dong-min turned and walked out of the alley.
As he left the alley, he glanced back for a moment.
A victorious smile hung at the corners of his mouth.
Han Dong-min: “If you understand, you’d better not approach Lady Jaehee anymore. That would spare both you and Lady Jaehee any trouble.”
