04. Kim Tae-hyung, he said he didn't like Jung Su-yeon

"When someone's prophecy becomes reality, someone shall fall into despair."

The next morning, Jung Su-yeon woke up earlier than usual to welcome the new semester. Although, her interest lay not in the new semester, but in Jimin and Yoongi. Jung Su-yeon was lost in thought, wondering if she should switch from the peach scent to something else to start fresh. Then, she spotted a perfume with a strong rose scent, picked it up, and stared at it intently. The rose scent was repulsive enough to make one nauseous. Jung Su-yeon threw the rose-scented perfume into the trash can as if she were tossing it in. Because she kept thinking of someone, because the disgusting memories made her choke up, and because she was in agony.

Jung Soo-yeon wanted to cut off her hands, which were soaked in a strong rose scent, but she couldn't bring herself to do it, so she scrubbed them vigorously with soap. Washing with lavender-scented soap caused the rose and lavender to intertwine and struggle, emitting an even more repulsive odor. Still, Jung Soo-yeon thought that it was better to have such a bizarre scent that made her dizzy than to be smelling only of roses.

As Jung Su-yeon arrived in front of the university's main gate, the lavender and roses in her hands were still tangled up, struggling against each other. She was annoyed that her hands emitted a strange scent because she had unnecessarily picked up the rose-scented one. Perhaps that was why her usually gentle face was contorted so heavily today. Of course, that gentle expression was entirely fabricated, but today, she didn't even seem to have the strength to do so.

“Ah, what is this?”

Someone looked at Jung Su-yeon and complained in a voice that sounded as if they were fed up with her. Jung Su-yeon was already dying of annoyance, but the way that person casually spat out those words as if they were sick of her made her irritable even more. Curious about who had provoked her, Jung Su-yeon turned around. It was Kim Tae-hyung, the one she had taken classes with before. Jung Su-yeon ended up showing him a deeply distorted expression—to the one who was Jimin's best friend. However, as if nothing had happened, Jung Su-yeon naturally wore a smile. Without the slightest awkwardness. But to Tae-hyung, Jung Su-yeon's reaction was simply creepy.

“Jung Suyeon, are you still hanging out with Park Jimin and Yoongi sunbae?”

“Yeah, why? It’s been like you’ve really hated me for a while now. Why are you acting like this?”

“You know everything, yet you’re pretending not to know again. Did you think I wouldn’t know just by acting innocent?”

“What? I really don’t know why you hate me, and I don’t know why you’re telling me not to hang out with Jimin and Yoongi sunbae.”

"what?"

“And if Jimin and Yoongi are separated from me, who do you think will be sadder? Huh? Think carefully, Taehyung. Who do you think Jimin and Yoongi will end up resenting more in this situation?”

Jung Soo-yeon wears a relaxed smile on her face. A relaxed smile, a smile that seemed as if everything were planned—Taehyung hated that smile of Jung Soo-yeon so much. It was disgusting. It was repulsive. Taehyung hated her—the woman who seemed to hold everything in the palm of her hand and play with it, the woman who was obsessive.

“Huh? Taehyung.”

“This is why I hate you. This is why I’m trying to separate you from Park Jimin and Yoongi sunbae.”

Jung Su-yeon’s expression turned cold for a moment, then she smiled faintly and let out a smirk. Turning her back on Tae-hyung, she walked straight into the front door. It was her way of saying he wasn't even worth answering. The tip of Tae-hyung’s nose stung from the biting wind. With his nose and cheeks flushed bright red from the chill, Tae-hyung stared at her retreating figure. Disgusting. Repulsive. Someday…
