prolog_First meeting, first parting

It was cloudy from the morning, as if it was going to rain. With only dark clouds, I was in a bad mood as I entered my first year of middle school. March 4th. Everyone heads to school for the first time, full of hope, ambition, and romance. However, the moment they enter middle school, those precious dreams are often shattered. Entering middle school is a fleeting sadness for those involved, as they have to say goodbye to their close friends and start anew. However, on the other hand, I occasionally come across children who come with high expectations of meeting new friends.

"Hi, kids. I'm Kim Eun-hee, your homeroom teacher for the next year."

"hello!!"

"Everyone must be a little awkward, so should we all say hello to our friends next to us?"

"Teacher, I don't have a partner?"

"Oh, if you're sitting next to Yoongi... you should be Yeoju, but I can't see you."

"Aren't you coming today?"

"Well, I'll contact you and come back."

Less than a minute after the teacher went out into the hallway, Yeoju came in through the back door, out of breath. She glanced around the classroom and strode towards the seat written on the blackboard. A faint peach scent lingered around Yeoju. Yoongi stared at her, dumbfounded. Why was someone so relaxed when they were late? Up close, it looked like she had a little eye makeup on.

"Hi! My name is Oh Yeo-ju. Let's be friends from now on."

"Uh... uh, hi. I'm Min Yoongi. Okay, let's be friends."

Thanks to the lively Yeoju, the two became close very quickly. Yoongi's expression brightened day by day as he hung out with Yeoju, and thanks to Yeoju, Yoongi became more popular. It completely changed Yoongi's timid personality. Yeoju and Yoongi were in the same class from the first year of middle school until the third year. So, it was inevitable that feelings for each other would develop little by little. They lived in the same apartment and even lived next door, so they would just be stuck together all day long. Naturally, their parents also became close.

The day of the beginning of the third year of middle school. Coincidentally, Yeo-ju and Yoon-gi were in the same class and sat next to each other. Then on March 8th, Yeo-ju confessed through text. That she liked him. That she liked him more than she thought, that she loved and liked him more than anything. Yoon-gi was so happy that it was a two-way street, and he was thinking about how he could stylishly confess in return, so he said he would tell her tomorrow. But the next day, Yeo-ju's seat was empty, and there was only a letter and a bouquet of flowers on Yoon-gi's desk. The letter had a short warning to go home and look at it, so he wanted to see it, but he held back somehow. Yeo-ju didn't come to school the next period, or the period after that, and Yoon-gi, who missed her, couldn't hold back any longer and sent her a text during lunch.

Now that I knew, I felt better. Then, after school, I rushed home, placed the bouquet I'd been cherishing in my room, and read the letter carefully. A chuckle spread across my face.

"Anyway, Woo Yeo-ju, the main character."
