Episode 13 - Ex-girlfriend

Yujung, Taehyun, and Beomgyu’s three-way standoff ended on such an awkward note.

Yujung felt like her troubles had just increased…

“Neeeaaah…”

And then, on what had been just an ordinary afternoon, something unexpected happens.

Yujung, Taehyun, and Choi Beomgyu…

“Hey, look over there! Next to Kang Taehyun!!”

“Why, why, why??”

“Kang Taehyun’s ex…”

“Whoa, that’s insane…”

“Wow, even while crying she’s so damn pretty…”

“They really did look good together… why did they break up?”

“But doesn’t Kang Taehyun already have a girlfriend?”

The moment Yujung heard the kids whispering “Taehyun’s ex” in their mouths, her stomach dropped.

The kids were peeking at Taehyun and a girl through the classroom window. The two of them were standing on the playground, as if they were having a serious conversation.

As soon as Yujung saw that, she ran straight out to the playground.

The long-haired girl was crying, and the closer Yujung got, the prettier her silhouette seemed.

Her hair fluttered softly, and she had big, slightly drooping, lovely eyes, along with harmonious features.

She was a pretty girl with no rough edges, delicate and airy, with the image of a first love.

She gave off a vibe that was similar to Yujung’s, yet very different at the same time.

“Kang Taehyun… why do you have such sad eyes…”

Yujung couldn’t bring herself to call out to Taehyun.

Because the way Taehyun and the girl were looking at each other was far too tender.

 

 

 

“Hey, you okay?”

When Yujung looked back, Choi Beomgyu had followed her out.

“Your boyfriend is awful, cheating on you with such a pretty girlfriend~.”

“It’s not cheating! Why do you keep saying that from earlier…”

Yujung suddenly felt a rush of emotion.

Was it because she was jealous? Or because the two of them, standing under the swaying trees, looked too perfect together? Or because… that girl was just too pretty?

Either way, it didn’t matter.

Yujung was annoyed that she’d even teared up over something this small.

‘Taehyun teased me so much for being jealous of me and Beomgyu… and now what is this stupid mess…’

Seeing tears gather in Yujung’s eyes, Beomgyu took off his school jacket and draped it over her to cover her.

 

 

“Don’t cry, Kang Taehyun’s wife is you.”

 

And we’re back with the author’s note!

Taehyun’s ex-girlfriend here is a character named Seorin Seolhwa, and I used photos of actress Suzy...!

She’s a supporting heroine here, but since she’s a character I personally really love, I’m also trying to include Seolhwa’s story in other fanfics.

(Their story is the real thing...)
