Taehyun and Yujeong lay on the grass, looking up at the sky together.
Taehyun closed his eyes and spoke in a slow, relaxed murmur.
“Hey, Yujeong.”
“Huh? What is it?”
“I wrote lyrics for a song a while ago.”
“What song?”
“One about us.”
Yujeong also shut her eyes tight like Taehyun and smiled bashfully.
“So? Did you make it well?”
“Yeah. At first I wanted to make it a bit... sad, but as I was writing it, it turned into a happy ending.”
“Sing it for me...”
Taehyun cleared his throat briefly and sang the first verse.
“You asked me
to think back on the happiest moment of my life
I’ll always think of that blue
the blue you gave me
Not a sad, dull blue
Not even the blue T-shirt I love
The blue of the sky
The blue of the sea
Our summer was truly blue
We lived by a beautiful beach
Of course, it wasn’t always blue
But memories tend to get prettified
I remember your eyes shining like lapis lazuli
that gaze sparkling like the sea”
Yujeong was getting sleepy from Taehyun’s low voice and the warm sunlight.
“The lyrics are pretty... but why is this our story?”
Taehyun raised his hand and intertwined his fingers with Yujeong’s.
“Because you were my sea, my summer, my blue.”
“Ugh, that’s so cheesy”
“hahaha but it’s true. When I think of summer, the first thing I remember is the blue ribbon pin you used to wear, and you laughing at the beach near the school.”
At Taehyun’s suddenly serious expression, Yujeong opened her eyes too and gripped Taehyun’s hand tightly.
“I wish time would stop like this.”
Yujeong’s true feelings slipped out by accident.
“Me too.”
“My wish is to stay like this.”
Taehyun took a breath and said with a pleading look.
“Let’s get married.”
Yujeong found her own wishful expression in Taehyun.
A desperate, desperate look.
‘What’s so great about me...’
Yujeong knew it too. The time given to her and Taehyun was three years, and that someday she would have to tell Taehyun that.
But for now...
“Yeah. Let’s do that, us.”
Yujeong answered while hiding her anxiety.
+) The grass is pretty, right!!
