At first, I was hesitant, but as I got closer and looked more closely, it was indeed Namjoon. I wanted to run, but Jungkook grabbed my arm. My eyes widened as I turned my head toward Jungkook, who put his index finger to his mouth and spoke.
“Quiet, don’t go yet.”
“Kim Namjoon is right there, so you’re telling me not to go? We came here to find Kim Namjoon.”
“It’s not the right time yet. Let’s watch Kim Namjoon’s actions here for a bit and then catch him if there’s anything else we can catch.”
“…That means.”
“Yeah, undercover investigation… is that possible?”
“I’m okay since I have insomnia anyway… but is Jeongguk-ssi free?”
“This is my job, to catch Kim Namjoon.”
“We came here unprepared.”
"You can go back and prepare for the undercover operation. Come with me. I'm not very good at undercover investigations, but with Se-yeon, I think I can do it for a few weeks."
I looked at Jungkook, my heart pounding with excitement, and smiled faintly. We eventually returned, having completed our ambush preparations, and Namjoon seemed to be staying with an old woman.
The Namjoon we observed lived diligently, helping the elderly with mobility issues and working in the fields during the day. He seemed to be doing nothing. But that was an illusion, as we were observing from afar.
We thought Namjoon and his grandmother were the only people living in the house he was staying at. How long had we been undercover? Seeing Namjoon's seemingly honest lifestyle, we abandoned our pursuit and attempted to apprehend him. Just as we were about to open the car door and get out, a woman emerged from Namjoon's apartment. She appeared to be in her early to mid-twenties, with a pretty appearance but a haggard appearance. We knew the moment we saw her: she was Namjoon's new target for crimes.
