During a long kiss, I sensed a different scent from him, even though I hadn't seen him for a long time. He was definitely fragrant with the cherry blossom scent I loved, but when I kissed him, an unfamiliar scent, different from the scent I knew, lingered around my lips. I looked at his face for a moment. No matter how I looked at the store manager, who had his hair pulled back tightly and was neatly dressed, no difference from yesterday. It was definitely like that.

But something was different. He was dressed neatly as usual and wearing my favorite perfume, but something felt different. It wasn't just the cherry blossom scent, but perhaps a hint of rose perfume, which women usually wear. While I was staring intently, deep in thought, he cleared his throat, perhaps uncomfortable with my gaze, and said he was going to work.

I thought he was cheating, but I just let him go, because I had no concrete evidence to support my suspicions. Since I also wear rose perfume, it's possible he'd picked up some of my perfume from before. Of course, the rose scent was slightly different. I didn't care. It just happened. It just seemed that way.

While I was reading my book again, a customer came in. It was a high school student who had been coming here for a few days. As usual, the child took a seat by the window and watched me carefully as he chose a book. I had briefly observed him because it was strange to see a high school student come to the library so early in the morning, but I must have been quite taken aback by his behavior. Of course, even I would have been watching him, wondering if he was unhappy with my presence, so I pretended to be okay and looked away again.

Maybe because it was still in the beginning of the book, it was interesting, but most writers put the boring parts in the middle to hide their weaknesses and write the beginning and the end in an interesting way, so I couldn't praise this writer for writing well just because the beginning was interesting. Anyway, as I was reading the book intently, it was already past midnight. But for some reason, the student was still reading. I looked at the calendar thinking today was the weekend, but today was Wednesday. So I went up to the student sitting by the window and spoke to him.

"Aren't you going to school?"

The child flinched and stared blankly at me. When I scratched the back of my head in embarrassment, the student smiled and pursed his lips.

"Today is the school's anniversary."

"Ah...but why are you wearing a school uniform?"

"I thought it was a school day..."

Actually, I thought he was going to skip school without permission because he was a punk. But it was the school's anniversary... and he came out wearing his uniform because he thought he was going to school today... So I laughed because he was so cute, but the kid's ears turned red and he lowered his head. So I crouched down to match the kid's height and looked at him. Then, the kid raised his head and made eye contact with me.

She was so pretty. Until now, I had only seen her with her head down, so I couldn't see her face properly. But seeing her bean-sized head, sparkling eyes, round nose, and charming lips, I understood what it meant to say that a statue escaped from a museum. So, without realizing it, I asked her name.

"What's your name?"

"This is Lee Dae-hwi..."

"Dae-hwi? Dae-hwi, are you interested in working part-time at our library? We need part-timers."

"Yes...? Part-time job?"

I felt a little strange today. I asked a kid I'd just spoken to if he was interested in working part-time at the library, and I was suspicious of my boyfriend. Come to think of it, today wasn't the only time I smelled a hint of rose perfume from Woong.
