First love: Remember that time
_____
"Mom, where are we going?"
Saturday, May 26, 2012.
Mom led my twin brother and me out of the house, holding hands, telling us to go out for a bit. She didn't say where we were going, but my brother looked at me as if he knew where we were going.
"Brother, where are we going?"
"Um... maybe to meet your aunt?"
"aunt...?"
"Is our Jihoon smart?"
"I guess we're going to meet my aunt."
"What aunt are you?"
When I asked my mom what aunt she was going to see, she told me she was a close friend of ours since childhood. She also told me that she had a friend our age and encouraged me to get closer to her. As an outgoing person, my heart raced at the mention of a friend.
"I'm here, haha"
We arrived at a piano academy. Mom took us inside and introduced us to my aunt and her friend. My aunt was incredibly pretty and beautiful. A friend of our age pretended not to see us and sat quietly on the academy sofa.
"Yoongi, Mom told you to say hello when your friends come over."
"......"
"Oh my... look at that guy."
"Will Jihoon and Yuwon understand?"
“It’s because Yoongi is very shy.”
"shine...?"
"Is your name Yoongi?"
"Yeah, Min Yoongi."
"Yuwon, try asking Yoongi to become friends with you."
I approached Yoongi as my mom said. Hello, do you want to be my friend? Yoongi didn't respond to my words, so I tried talking to him again.Hey, do you want to be my friend? But Yoon-gi got angry and told me to go away because he found me annoying.
"Chee... This is too much..."
"Oh, Min Yoongi, who said that to his friend?"
"Hurry up and apologize to Yuwon."
".....sorry.."
Yoongi immediately apologized to me after being scolded by his aunt. I looked at him with a look of disbelief. But Yoongi remained silent, merely waving his hand. It seemed like he was getting angry, but was afraid of getting scolded again, so he didn't say anything.
"Phew...."
"Uh, why are you laughing..?"
"Just... because it's kind of funny?"
"What's funny?"
"You...lol"
"Your name is Yoongi too."
"Yun-gi is swaying... haha"
"Hey! Don't tease me with my name..!"
"Then what kindergarten are you in?"
"what?"
"Isn't that too harsh?"
"Why? You teased me with my name too!"
"But what is kindergarten?"
"Don't tease me with the name my mom and dad gave me!"
"Then don't tease me with the name my mom gave me!"
We fought like elementary school kids, afraid someone would think we weren't. For the first few days after we met, we didn't speak to each other and kept arguing, but my mom told us to make up, so I apologized first. My pride was hurt, but since my mom always said whoever makes up wins, I won and Min Yoongi lost. Still, the psychological warfare continued.
We met every weekend for a month, and then, on June 26th, my mom told me to take piano lessons at my aunt's academy. I was already interested in the piano because my mom was a pianist, so I was really excited to hear that I could learn.
So, my twin brother and I started learning piano at my aunt's academy in July. Min Yoongi, who I'd been fighting with for days, was there, but my aunt insisted we be friends and let us shake hands. True to my aunt's advice, I completely reconciled with Min Yoongi, joking around with him and sharing hilarious conversations after class.
So, after school, every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, all I thought about was running to the academy and hanging out with Min Yoongi. My brother, me, and Min Yoongi. We became a tight-knit trio, and even now, ten years later, we're still incredibly close. But at some point, things started to fall apart. Some people lost their senses, some lost everything, and some lost someone precious to them.
As soon as we became adults, we all drifted apart, never to see each other again. It was definitely a good thing, but how did we end up here? Did someone's competitive spirit lead us to this? Or was it always meant to be this way?
I'm so lonely right now.
I tried typing on the keyboard
