Footsteps of a broken soul

12. PLAVE and PLLI (1)

Is Bambi, born in Caelum, the same person as me? Honestly, from my perspective, I'd be more inclined to think, "I don't think so."

Bambi of Caelum and Bonggu of Earth are, spiritually, the same person. They were once one soul, but split apart, and I was the one who fell to Earth and was reincarnated. So, they are indeed the same person.

‘I understand it intellectually, but I don’t know what’s going on in my heart.’

In my head, I know and even understand that ‘Bambi and Bonggu are the same person.’ However, since Bambi’s memories and I are not one, I don’t think that Bambi is me.

A new bundle called "Bambi's Memories" has arrived in my head, and I feel like I can pull out memories from it whenever I need them. In short, it feels like I'm looking at someone else's memories.

Besides, I haven't even figured out all of Bambi's memories. If I recall all of them, will I fully accept that they're the same person?

Hmm. Right now, I'm probably in a similar position to the female protagonist of the anime InuXsha.

Oh, so Ha Min is this X Yasha?

I don't think so. He's a cat.

“Oh my, our Hamin, are you so sad because your older brother is gone?”

“Be quiet. I’m embarrassed.”

He was leaning against me and crying his eyes out a while ago, but now he's rubbing his swollen eyes and refusing to even make eye contact with me. You little punk. How cute. I playfully poked him to change the mood, but he started making that signature frog-like expression he makes when he's on the verge of sulking.

"Okay, okay. Let's go to your house. Why don't you show me where to go?"

I winked and patted Ha-min on the shoulder, and only then did his stiff face soften, he looked at me intently, and continued speaking.

“Brother, do you have a curfew?”

“I said I was going to see a performance today, so I came in a little late- Whew!! That’s right!! A performance!!”

Then, something I'd completely forgotten came to mind. It was only now that I remembered that the reason I was here was none other than the performance we'd planned to see together at the Play Club meeting.

Feeling the color drain from my face, I pulled out my phone in a flustered state. Looking at its gleaming screen, I was relieved to see that not a single crack had been broken after all that chaos.

“I missed your call…! I must be crazy!”

There were a whopping 18 missed messages from members, and I couldn't even bring myself to open the three-digit number of ChocoTalk notifications, so my poor finger just kept moving over the app icon.

I must be crazy. How on earth do I explain this? My mind was so overloaded that I was about to declare a strike, but Ha-min patted me on the shoulder, telling me not to worry.

"Don't worry. Okay, let's go home like I said. I'll show you something fun."

“Something fun…?”

“Look here. Come out! Come out, wherever you are!”

He shouted a spell with a playful tone that seemed straight out of a comic book, and as he reached out, a crack appeared in the air. Like a cracked glass window, the crack grew until it split open. Beyond the gaping hole in the air, it seemed to extend into the purple-tinged night sky.

“Ta-da, any door leading to our house!”

“What, what is it? If I go in there, won’t I become lost in space?”

“Not at all. Come on!”

“Wait a minute, Hamin. I need to get ready mentally! Shut up!!”

Despite Ha-min's gesture for me to come in, I couldn't move, just standing there, hesitating. Perhaps frustrated, or perhaps eager to join us, he suddenly grabbed my hand and pulled me into the gap.

I closed my eyes tightly as the unidentified portal drew me closer, drawn by a hand. "Thump, thump, thump." I took three or four strong steps, but nothing seemed to bother me, so I cautiously closed my eyes and opened them.

"…. uh?"

Just a moment ago, it had been a dark alley with only one or two streetlights on, but now a completely different scene was filling my field of vision.

It was a green room, with a comfortable level of brightness. Retro posters hung on the walls, and a desk held a variety of items, including a computer. They weren't cluttered, but rather laid out according to their own rules.

Next to the desk, Hamin's bass guitar stood there, dimly lit, its body still. It's been a while since I've seen him, so nice to see you.

Wait a minute, the sight of an ordinary room came into view and I realized I had just teleported through some sort of dimensional portal.

Crazy! This is crazy! There's actually a door anywhere! Bursting with curiosity, I grabbed Hamin and, my eyes sparkling, asked him a series of questions.

"What the heck is this? Wow. This is amazing! You can even use magic? You can even go to Canada if you just open doors like a goblin? I'm so jealous. When you come to school, you can just wave and you'll arrive! Where does it go? Can't you take me home in this later too!?"

“Just calm down for a moment….”

“Woooooooooooooo!!”

I couldn't hide my excitement, stomping my feet and circling around him. By the way, I thought Ha-min had a look on his face that said, "Here we go again, hyung," but I guess I should just think about it.

“I can’t go very far. I just copied Noah’s magic.”

“Noah, does he use magic too?”

"To be exact, it was written by Noah from Asterum. Like the ability Bonggu mentioned earlier, Noah's unique ability is 'magic.'"

“If I hit that guy on the back of the head, will he regain his memories and wake up like me?”

“…. Don’t do that.”

I meant it as a joke, but you just got a little excited for like three seconds. That's suspicious.

"What exactly is my ability? I just felt like I could move roughly as fast as light."

“Hyung Bonggu’s unique abilities are ‘Neon’ and ‘Flower’.”

“If it’s neon….”

I tried controlling my body's flow, building on the feeling I had when moving at the speed of light earlier. When I tried again, it felt like turning a rusty chain, and it didn't turn smoothly.

I waved my hand, slowly circulating the energy within my body, making a creaking sound. Then, as if drawing a pink neon light in the air, it disappeared, leaving an afterimage following my movements.

"Yeah, if you use this well, you can move incredibly fast. I get that, but what about flowers? Are they blooming from my body?"

“It’s not something that comes from the body….”

He looked around and picked up a table mirror, thinking it would be faster to see for himself than to listen to Ha Min explain.

“Would you like to close your eyes tightly and then open them again, thinking of sending energy from your body to your cheeks?”

I didn't know what would come out, but I did as he told me. I slowly moved the energy I'd just circulated through my limbs upward. When it reached my head, I closed my eyes tightly, thinking I'd burst a bright energy around my cheeks, just as he'd instructed. The moment I opened them,

“Wow! What is this!”

Around my face, a game effect exploded, and flowers appeared and disappeared. I trembled like a high school student suddenly awakened from a nap by something unexpected.

“…. What kind of ability is this?”

“It’s a special ability for cuteness.”

“???”

What is that?

I rolled my eyes, a question mark floating in my head. Ha-min was grinning cutely at me, and as the older brother, I felt a slight bruise on my pride. "What? I'm the older brother, so why do you think I'm cute?"

As I looked at him with a slightly pointed look, a young girl's voice began to be heard from somewhere across the room.

“Who’s here~?”

“What, what? Who else is there besides us?”

“Yeah, don’t worry. He’s a good person.”

Ha Min-i soon smiled softly and put the mirror she was holding down on the table. She walked over to the door where the sound was coming from and called out in a gentle voice.

“It’s me. Flea!”

Then, with a loud crash, the door burst open. The person who suddenly opened the door to Ha-min's room and came in was a cute girl who looked like she was in her last year of elementary school.

“Our little cat is here!”

"What, what?" I was slightly taken aback by the unexpected tone. The boy, wearing a spotted T-shirt and with pigtails flying around his head, came in, let out a growl and suddenly stretched his arms high in front of Ha-min. Ha-min smiled his familiar, bright smile, gave him a quick hug, and then left.

“Flea, we have a guest at our house.”

“Huh? Sir?”

“Ta-da-”

My eyes met with a girl's, tilted head with a puzzled expression. The girl's eyes widened, as if she were doubting whether what she had just seen was real, then she frowned and rubbed her eyes.

Oh, I know that look. It's the same meme as when Winnie the Pooh looks at a piece of paper and makes a questioning face.

“It’s night time!!”

Then, suddenly, she covered her mouth, her eyes watering, and then, with a sudden change of pace, she came running towards me. She didn't hug me or anything, but she came running at me with the same energy as someone who'd just rolled their eyes at a flying lottery ticket. I was so startled that I almost took a step back.

“Wow… wow… it’s really Bambi… our Bambi….”

“…. Oh, ah, hello? Who are you?”

“I am PLLI!”

The child looked at me with a face filled with pure happiness. It was so adorable, I almost hugged him without realizing it, if I hadn't been sober.

It was Ha-min who solved this strange phenomenon, where the child's good feelings were bubbling up strangely.

“You can think of it as the spirit of Asterum, born from the love for our PLAVE.”

“A being born from a heart that loves us?”

"Yeah, don't you think it's really lovely or cute? Flea, what would you like to drink? I'll get it for you."

“I am a cup of Love and Peace, given by the gentle hands of a flower deer to the sweet love made with the softness of our baby Kamgo…♡”

… . That’s really unique… .

But for some reason, just like Ha-min said, she looks really pretty.
