I have to make sure to tell them it was an amazing youth

ep3. Omniscient Myung Jae-hyun Point of View

"Director, I’m going to quit being an intern."
"Jaehyeon, why are you like this? Let’s stay a little longer, okay?"
"I don’t think there’s much hope."

Contract termination.
From now on, I just want to focus on the music I really love.
If I save up a little more money now, I’ll be able to buy equipment too.

"Hanagyeong, clear this here for me. I’ll clear this part."
"Boss! Table 3 wants three servings of instant tteokbokki and soup tteokbokki!"
That was a break of just a little over 10 minutes.
I formally spoke to Hanagyeong.
"Why do you work part-time?"
"College tuition."
"I’m saving up to buy equipment."
"You’re not going to college?"
"Yeah. I just wonder if there’s any need to go. It’s boring when everyone else goes. I don’t know why I should have to do the same thing."

The Han River.
I come here sometimes.
Today too, the Han River Bridge across the way is moving busily
and beyond it, Banpo Bridge is quiet as always, with cars moving busily.
The colorful lights of the buildings across the river quietly fill my eyes.
But why is my life so noisy?
No.
That’s why I like it even more.
Because it’s different from everyone else’s.
Because it isn’t just a calm life lived by letting things drift by like everyone else.
I don’t want to live a life that’s calm and quiet like everyone else’s.
I want to do what I want, and later look back and be able to say I had an amazing youth, that I worked hard and lived a life like that.
Maybe because there isn’t much time left until I’m twenty, even with this dream I feel uneasy.
What will I be doing when I’m twenty, what expression will I be wearing?
