It was a coincidence that they met again.

In late autumn, when the weather began to get a little chilly, Kim Yeo-ju and Jeon Jung-kook, both twenty-nine, were diligently living their own lives. Kim Yeo-ju was the owner of a fairly successful café, and Jeon Jung-kook was a team leader at a large corporation. Kim Yeo-ju always showed up early to open the café. She cleaned, checked the ingredients, and baked desserts to sell alongside the drinks. Despite this, Kim Yeo-ju worked entirely alone, without any employees. She didn't want to leave something precious to anyone else, or something like that.

“Welcome~”

Perhaps because of the many companies located around Kim Yeo-ju's cafe, many customers flocked there from early in the morning. Most of the morning customers were office workers commuting to various nearby companies. Having met people from various companies, including electronics and marketing companies, Kim Yeo-ju has developed a sense of humor that allows her to tell what kind of company someone is from just by looking at them.

"Here's a takeout iced Americano and cookie service! Fighting today too~"

This was the kind of person Kim Yeo-ju was. She was the kind of person who brought small joys to those who visited her cafe every morning, her shoulders hunched. Kim Yeo-ju never lost her smile, no matter the situation, and she was never cold to anyone.

“Welcome,”

“Two more shots of iced Americano, please.”

The one person who made Kim Yeo-joo's smile disappear was none other than Jeon Jung-kook. Jeon Jung-kook was the team leader of a marketing company near Kim Yeo-joo's cafe. He was known for being difficult to work with and his facial expressions rarely changed, earning him the nickname "cyborg team leader."

Cafe owner Kim Yeo-ju and marketing company team leader Jeon Jung-kook. Most people would assume their relationship was just a casual encounter. However, theirs was a bit too complicated to be considered casual encounters, and too awkward to be considered a deep connection. It was a strange and peculiar relationship.

“…Two more shots of iced Americano were added.”

“Kim Yeo-ju, that’s you.”

It was Kim Yeo-ju who handed Jeon Jung-kook an iced Americano, expressionless, and it was Jeon Jung-kook who pretended to know her. In response to Jeon Jung-kook's questions, Kim Yeo-ju simply bit her lip and lowered her head, offering no response.

After watching Kim Yeo-ju's actions for a while, Jeon Jung-kook quickly paid for his coffee with a crisp bill and his business card, then turned and left the cafe. Only after Jeon Jung-kook left did Kim Yeo-ju raise her head, and when she did, tears welled up in her eyes.

“… It’s Jeon Jungkook… Jeon Jungkook, that Jeon Jungkook..”

Kim Yeo-ju took the business card Jeon Jung-kook had left behind and glanced at it, then sank down. She sat there, staring intently at Jeon Jung-kook's business card, until the tears that had been welling up in her eyes finally fell.

The cafe he often frequented wasn't open, so he went to a different one for the first time, and it just so happened to be the cafe where Kim Yeo-joo was. Jeon Jung-kook's hand clenched as he held the coffee cup Kim Yeo-joo had handed him. He pretended to be cool and cool, leaving behind a few business cards and bills before turning around... Jeon Jung-kook wondered if he had made a mistake, and even after arriving at work, he kept thinking about the situation.

“Team leader.”

“……”

“Team leader…?”

“Oh, I’m sorry. What’s wrong?”

Jeon Jungkook felt like he was going crazy thinking about Kim Yeo-ju, the girl he'd met that morning, to the point where he wondered if he'd ever been this distracted since joining the company. Why did it have to be Kim Yeo-ju and not someone else? He even wondered if meeting his enemy might have been better.

“Ha… why Kim Yeo-ju of all people?”

Jeon Jungkook, who placed his hands on his desk, clasped his fingers together, and placed them against his forehead, was completely distraught, both mentally and physically. To Jeon Jungkook, Kim Yeo-ju was the number one person he avoided, someone he never wanted to see again. What on earth was their relationship to be acting like this? They were just high school classmates. They had only met briefly during their high school years.

“…She’s still pretty.”

To be precise, the girl that high school student Jeon Jungkook had been chasing after because she liked him was none other than high school student Kim Yeo-joo. Jeon Jungkook, who was quietly humming in the same position as before, his face twisted into a fluttering expression, as if he'd returned to his nineteenth year. His ears had been red for a long time, and his heart was beating faster than usual. Perhaps Jeon Jungkook had actually been missing Kim Yeo-joo.

Jeon Jungkook is thrilled, while Kim Yeo-joo sheds tears. Reunited after a full ten years, the two reacted with stark contrasts. What exactly was their relationship, and what happened?
