I'll wait for you tomorrow

Episode 8) Like the promise of the first day

The fan sign day.

Yeoju was unusually nervous today.

From afar, Taehyun was talking and laughing with fans,

Seeing that, Yeoju suddenly..

stopped.

She’d thought she’d be fine.

So much time had passed.

She thought she’d already gotten over it.

But..

she hadn’t.

The moment she saw Taehyun,

she felt like she understood why she’d run away so badly.

Because she liked him too much.

Because she still liked him too much.

And soon it was Yeoju’s turn.

Her heart was pounding like crazy.

Taehyun lifted his head with his usual smile.

Taehyun) “Hello.”

But..

the moment he saw Yeoju’s face

he stopped speaking.

Silence.

Taehyun stared at Yeoju in disbelief.

Taehyun) “…Noona?”

Yeoju couldn’t say anything.

Taehyun) “It’s been so long.”

Yeoju lowered her head, apologetic.

Yeoju) “Yeah… it has been..”

Taehyun tried to smile.

But

it didn’t go the way he wanted.

He tried to smile, but the corners of his mouth wouldn’t lift.

It felt like tears would come out instead of a smile.

Taehyun said, choked with tears.

Taehyun)“You’re late“

Yeoju held back her tears too.

Yeoju)“I’m sorry..”

Taehyun)“Why are you sorry?”

Taehyun cut her off.

Yeoju) “……”

Taehyun) “You came”

“Thank you for coming”

Then Taehyun smiled a little.

Taehyun)“I waited for you”

In the end, Yeoju broke down crying.

Yeoju) “Why…”

“Why did you wait..”

Taehyun said it as if it were only natural.

Taehyun) “Because I wanted to wait“

When the fan sign was over and Yeoju was about to stand up from her seat, Taehyun called out to her.

Taehyun) “Noona“

…?

Yeoju turned around.

Taehyun) “Next time…”

He paused for a moment, then gave a faint smile.

Taehyun) “Don’t take too long.”

Yeoju laughed through her tears.

Yeoju) “Okay”

Taehyun's thoughts)

‘She really came‘

Someday the door would open,

and when that familiar face walked in,

he thought he wanted to be the one standing there.

And then, for real,

that day, he was standing there.
