Before I knew it, I'd finished my residency and become a fellow. Now I'm settled in, and my relationship with my professor has already been going on for about four years. Of course, there were times when I was bedridden.
The professor occasionally brought up the topic of marriage. But I didn't think I was ready yet. I was a resident, a busy time for doctors, and I didn't have much free time. But now that I'd become a fellow and had some free time, I cautiously brought it up to the professor.
"professor."
"huh?"
“You know… I’m a fellow now and I have some free time.”
“Let’s get married.”
The sudden comment caught me off guard for a moment. Then, the professor's serious expression softened and he burst into hearty laughter. I stood there, still bewildered. Feeling like he'd been playing a prank on me, who had come to me with such sincerity, I gave him a slight slap and said, "I'm sorry."
“Oh, don’t joke around!”
“I’m not kidding, I’m serious.”
“… Lies, I came here with sincerity.”
The professor told me to wait a moment, then rummaged through the drawers. A small but elegant case emerged from a corner. It was a case whose contents were immediately apparent. The professor stood up and spoke.
“I didn’t want to propose at the hospital.”
A ring was placed on my hand, and I burst into tears for no reason. The professor wiped them away. But the tears wouldn't stop, so he grabbed my cheek and said.
“Anyway, Yoonseo, you crybaby.”
“It’s the professor’s fault… How can something like this suddenly come into my head?”
The professor smiled and kissed me. It was a tearful kiss, but it was sweeter and better than any kiss I'd ever had.

And so, we successfully married. Our wedding hall was filled with countless guests, but we were the ones who truly shined. After enduring many hardships and adversities, and having endured some bumpy days, we finally reached a happy ending.
