The weather had warmed up, and the chilly wind quickly turned warm.
Thanks to that, even going to school in just the uniform without a coat
my body didn’t shiver uncontrollably.
Even after the day I slept at Hwang Hyunjin’s house,
rumors about him kept coming in, steady and calm.
If it were up to me, I’d have pushed my way in among them
and shouted that he wasn’t that kind of person, but
thinking of Hwang Hyunjin trying to shut me up,
I could only chew on my lower lip and
listen to those rumors.
At the sound of the front door flying open,
the noisy classroom fell silent in an instant.
“Alright, we’re changing seats today.”
At the teacher’s one sentence,
the classroom atmosphere turned chaotic.
The teacher immediately turned on the TV and opened a laptop,
went to the seat-changing site,
and entered the students’ names one by one.

When the results came out, cheers and sighs mixed together at once.
Under the teacher’s urging not to dawdle and move already,I was pushed along
and hurriedly moved my desk to the back.
Once I’d moved seats,
only thendid my desk mate’s name catch my eye.
Without meaning to, I frowned.
When I glanced sideways with a scowl on my face,
my eyes met Hwang Hyunjin’s, but
instead, Hwang Hyunjin wore a calm expression
and looked away before sitting down.
First period was Korean.
Maybe because it was the first class after the seat change,
the noisy classroom atmosphere didn’t settle down easily.
“Class rep, say hello.”
As soon as the Korean teacher came in, he must have noticed the mood of the class
and tossed out a bunch of pointless jokes.
“You changed seats today, huh?
Looking at the boys’ faces,
you got separated from the person you like~”
At the teacher’s words, the whole classroom
was filled with screams like everyone had been terrified out of their minds.
On the other hand, Hwang Hyunjin, unexpectedly,
silently fiddled with his reddened ear and cleared his throat.
“Why? Are you disappointed because you got separated from the girl you really like?”
I whispered playfully by his ear,
and Hwang Hyunjin jerked for a moment before shooting a sharp glare at my face.

His expression was so amusing
that I covered my mouth with my hand so no one would hear and laughed out loud inside it.
“Quiet~ class is starting.”
Only ten minutes had passed since class started, but
Hwang Hyunjin had already started dozing off, his head dropping as if it might fall.
When I jabbed his side with the back end of my mechanical pencil,he slowly sat up groggily,
then immediately changed postureand lay face-down on the desk.
Seeing that, I shook my head.
A student comes to school and doesn’t study
but just sleeps through it and leaves—that was pretty funny.
Whenever Hwang Hyunjin stirred a little in his sleep,
a faint fragrance drifted out.
I stared at Hwang Hyunjin’s sleeping face.
Maybe he’d gotten so used to frowning
or maybe the hard desk was uncomfortable,
but he had his brow deeply furrowed and his eyes tightly shut.
“Hey, you there, wake up the sleeping kid.”
I jumped in surprise.
When I immediately gently shook his broad shoulders to wake him,
he let out an irritated sigh and lifted his head.
