“I have time, but why?”

“My dad really wanted to see you a bit,”
It felt like time was flowing backward.
At first, I tried to call my parents to get permission to stay out overnight, but
they didn’t readily agree.
Hwang Hyunjin seemed to notice and immediately took the phone, then
kept the call short.
“Hello, ma’am. I’m Taehee’s friend, Hyunjin,”
The call ended.
He easily got permission to stay out overnight with just a few words.
I was dazed that the call ended faster than I expected, but
I immediately moved to get on the Carnival headed to the company.
It was close to the school, but once we turned onto a somewhat secluded road,
a Carnival came to a stop in front of me.
Maybe because it had been so long since I’d seen it,
the man in a suit and the gleaming Carnivalfelt unfamiliar.
“This way, young master.”
The man who opened the back door and escorted Hwang Hyunjin
followed and got into the driver’s seat.
A skyscraper of enormous height, an endlessly stretching hallway.
When we stood in front of the room door located almost at the very end,
the employees lined up in the hallway
pulled the door open from both sides.
The first thing I saw inside was, of course, the nameplate.
Hwang Gangwon
The man in a neat suit, seated in a large chair,
slowly turned the chair to face us.
“Oh, you’re here?”

“Your son is here~”
“You came early.”
Hwang Hyunjin plopped down on the sofa against the wall.
“Why aren’t you smoking today for once?”
“I thought I’d show a little manners since I’m seeing my son’s girlfriend.”

“You said you really wanted to see Taehee,
so I brought him along too.”
He glanced at me.
At the gaze fixed on me, I unconsciously swallowed my tension.
Seeing how tense I was, Father
motioned toward the seat next to Hwang Hyunjin, telling me to sit comfortably.
The soft sofa sank warmly under my weight.
