the clock ticks
as the memories vanish
your silhouette fade
and I'm all alone
I immediately crumpled the piece of paper in front of me as I hear a knock on my door.
"Jin-Hye, can you help me make dinner tonight? Your oppa would be joining us." I make way to open my door and greet my mom.
"Mino-oppa's coming home?" Mom greeted me with a smile and handed me a piece of paper.
"It would appear that they were given a day off after their assesment for today, so I need you to buy me this stuff, alright, sweety?" My eyes shifted from the paper and to my mom.
"Would he really be coming home tonight? Last time he said that, he missed it." Still doubtful that Mino-oppa would be coming home, I was hesitant to go out and buy since I was also busy writing some lyrics for a song that I have been working on for months.
Mom held my hand tighter and looked at me with hopeful eyes. "We need to understand and support your brother. You know how much he wanted this and as a family, we will continue supporting him. Now go ahead and buy the ingredients so that we can have your brother's favourites for later." And left my room.
I looked at the long list of ingredients that Mom would be needing.
So much preparation to something unsure.
I took out my jacket to cover myself up as I get ready to head out.
"I'm heading out."
The shortcut to the store takes about 30 minutes walk from home but looking at how good the weather looks for today, walking by the Han River seems good even though it will take longer to reach the store. The Han River has always been a soothing place for me. There are also times when I breakdown from writing songs and I tend to sneak out at night just to relax by the river.
It's 2'o clock in the afternoon. I need to be home by 4'o clock so that Mom can start cooking. My brother, Song Mino who is five years older than me started as an underground rapper when he was younger. I even learned writing songs from him and was so proud with the achievements that he had done as an underground rapper but just two years ago, he had a change of heart. He wanted to become an idol so he auditioned at YG Entertainment, got accepted, and have been training ever since which leads to what we are right now. My brother and I were really close back then but after being a trainee, he became aloof. Maybe it was because of the stress of being a trainee and the lack of time, which I don't really know but still, not even going home once a month to see your family is something else.
What else is more important than the family?
I may seem petty with how I think but that is why exactly I didn't join him in auditioning in YG even though he would stop not nagging me about it back then.
I started humming the melody that have been on my mind for a few months now as I also try to think of some lyrics.
"Na~na~na~had~"
"Still having a hard time with that song?" I jumped out of surprise and turned to see the voice that came from behind me.
"Kim Donghyuk! Yah! How many times do I have to tell to stop doing that?" Donghyuk just laughed at me as he messes up my hair. Just as how I always see him, he was sweating real hard.
"Just finished with your dance practice again?" I pulled out my hanky from my pocket and handed it to him.
"Yeah, you can say that. We kinda had some bad reviews from the instructor so the members decided to cool down before practicing again. Hanbin-hyung has been really stressed out." Donghyuk reached for my hanky and said thanks as he quickly wipe of his sweat.
"And your cooling down spot is near Han River? You should've just rested to wherever place you were practicing."
"Well, you did say that this is a soothing place. And I 100% agree with you. Though it takes time to reach this place from our training center, it's worth it."
"Where are you even practicing? You never tell me that's why I have never seen you dance to the fullest." Even with trying to pout to make my self cute is still not effective for Donghyuk to tell me where I can visit him during his training.
Donghyuk laughed so hard that I can feel my face turn red out of embarrassment. I quickly turned away so that I can ran away from embarrassment but he was quicker to pull me by my hand to stop me from leaving but still laughing.
"Hey. Don't go. Sorry about that. You know that I can't tell since the center we're working in is kinda like a private one. Like a member's only so even if I do tell, you still can't come that's why it's better for you not to know. Okay?" Once again, he messes with my hair. "How's the song coming up?"
I quickly removed his hand from my hand and pouted once again as I remember the stress my song has been giving me lately. "Still no good."
"Then it's a surprise I see you out here. It's still afternoon. I only tend to see you here by evening when you're sulking." Even though I am pouting, Donghyuk kept on teasing me.
"Got an errand to do." I pulled out the piece of paper Mom gave to me. "Grocery."
"Oh. Looks like I stopped you on your--" His sentence was cut off when his phone started ringing which he immediately picked up as he saw thr caller's name.
"Hyung?" I saw him eye me and so I gave him a nod saying it's okay.
"We're starting soon?.....Alright, be there by 15.... Alright, thanks." As soon as he drops the call, he faced me. "Well, looks like I got to go. See you when I see you?" He gave me that sunlight smile he always does as I smile back to him.
"Good luck with practice." I waved at him as he ran back to wherever he was practicing waving and looking back when he can until he disappeared from my sight.
Kim Donghyuk
He is a friend I met here in Han River half a year ago. Just like me, he also likes music. But he's a total performer with his likes in both singing and dancing. He said that he's under a group which we never really deeply talked about since we got to meet only once a month(?), even twice if we're lucky. But the funny thing with our friendship was that it was built from our frustrations from music. Being a total stranger from one other, we were able to express ourselves without minding what the other would think. It actually helped that we only met few times but it made us comfortable already with each other. He tells me the stress their group is always being in while I tell him how stressful writing songs was and even show him my demo tapes which none of them were finished. The things that I would have done with my brother.
Ending up my thoughts with a sigh, I walk straight to the store to get back home quickly as I had already spent a few moments with that quick meeting with Donghyuk.

here's for my first chapter. Please bear with me. I'm still connecting my thoughts. I'm not even sure on how and where this story would end up but let's do it for fun. Lend me some of your thoughts.
