Kim Yeoju | New hire in TS Entertainment's secretary office
After a series of twists and turns, she finally got into the company she wanted, but,
from her very first day, she ends up reuniting as chairman and employee with that guy from her black history, the one who once stuffed beans into his nostrils back when he had a runny nose.
A new employee who gets hurt by Taesan's cold attitude, yet keeps messing with her resignation letter several times a day because she keeps trying to hide her wavering heart.
Prologue
"Employee Kim Yeoju, did you prepare the meeting materials?"
Inside the office, the voice drifting out from beyond the heavy mahogany desk was especially low and cool.
Yeoju swallowed hard and clenched the document envelope she was holding against her chest.
At twenty-six, Han Taesan was perfect. A sharp gaze shining behind silver-rimmed glasses, a flawless tailored suit fit, and even an atmosphere so cool it felt icy.
There was no trace anywhere of the mischievous childhood friend who used to share tteokbokki while sniffing from a runny nose.
Tense as a bowstring, Yeoju steeled herself inside.
'Taesan would never remember me anyway.. I shouldn't act like I know him.'
If she expected even a shred of old affection, she wouldn't survive in the company. Yeoju forced out the most businesslike, steady voice she could and held out the documents.
"Mr. Chairman, here are the meeting materials.."
The fingers of Taesan, taking the documents, brushed hers. Her whole body tingled like a jolt of electricity, and Yeoju unconsciously lifted her head slightly, but Taesan's gaze remained firmly fixed only on the documents.
It was a cold, indifferent gaze.. Yeoju swallowed back tears as she faced that perfect wall.
But there was something Yeoju didn't know.
That the tips of Taesan's fingers as he took the documents were trembling faintly. And that behind those papers, just how intensely his gaze was surging and shaking.
'How could I ever forget you, Yeoju. You, my first love.'
The two of them, once closer than anyone and yet more precariously distant than anyone, separated by a hair's breadth. Could they untangle their crossed-up misunderstanding?
