OH MY KISS!

It was a fairly ordinary week, and I was able to go out of school every weekend. During that week, I made close friends and spent my time diligently attending classes. The smooth flow of life gave me a sense of confidence, and I even thought that if things continued like this, I would get my money's worth from studying abroad.

”Yeoju, we’re going out to play tonight. Do you want to join us?”
(Yeoju, we're going out tonight. Do you want to come along?)

“Let’s go together! We’re going to play with the boys. Take this opportunity to get close!”
(Let's go together! We've decided to hang out with the boys too. Take this opportunity to get close to them!)

“uh..음…okay! I’ll go too.”
(Okay! I'll go too.)

“See you later~”
(See you in a bit~)

Friends I hadn't known for very long asked me to go out for dinner. On the outside, I pretended to hesitate a little, but it's no secret that inside, I was shouting "Yes!" the moment they suggested it. To think it was my first personal outing in the U.S., I was so excited.

I had been someone waiting for dinner all day today. Finally, the appointed time arrived, so I went to the school's main gate. I wore light makeup and dressed simply in a hoodie and sweatpants.
Of course, a full body check in the mirror at the dormitory entrance!

“You’re here? Let’s go!”
(You're here? Let's go!)

“Okay. Go!”

And so, the place I arrived at was… Huh? Where am I? All the signs were written in English (obviously), so I was a bit confused, but I pulled myself together and glanced at the sign...

“C-Club..??!”

No wonder there were so many flashy lights next to the sign. A bulging muscleman was standing in front of what looked like an entrance—what on earth! Is it even okay for us our age to be at a club?
And do kids come to places like this often?! It seemed the former was wrong and the latter was right. Their footsteps are so natural! We are getting closer and closer to the club…

“It’s a bit late?”
(You're a bit late?)

“sorry, But yeoju came with us.”
(Sorry, but the female lead came with us instead.)

“Yeoju? Oh, you’re the transfer student I saw last time. Good to see you.”
(Yeoju? Ah, so you're the transfer student I saw the other day. Nice to meet you.)

"Uh…me too."
(Uh…me too.)

“…아, Let’s go in.”
(Let's go in.)

In front of the club were that unlucky kid who tripped with me last time, and the blue-haired boy who was standing next to him. Then, the kids actually went inside the club. I'm the Confucian girl, Kim Yeo-ju. It's okay to go into the club right now, isn't it...?

“Yeoju, hurry up and come in!”
(Yeoju, come in quickly!)

I think I've become really close with some amazing friends.

The club was buzzing with excitement, fueled by music with massive volume and dark yet incredibly dazzling lights. Everyone was dressed in revealing outfits. No wonder the girls were wearing short skirts today. That was when I remembered my own clothes. A hoodie and sweatpants.

Oh my god.

Oh no. My face flushed hot from the sudden embarrassment. I mean, if you were coming to the club, you should have told me in advance! It wasn't a dress, but you certainly weren't wearing a tracksuit...

I guess I should just shut up... T_T

Forced ostracism. I had no choice but to sit at the table in the furthest corner and enjoy my solitude. Phew. I wonder if the other kids are having a good time. It hasn't been long since we became close, but I felt a lot of affection for them because they were the first friends I made in a strange place.

”Are you alone?”
(Are you alone?)

“W..What..?”
(N..Yes..?)

”Do you want to come with me?”
(Do you want to come with me?)

I was sitting alone in a corner when a man dressed in black approached me, struck up a conversation, and suddenly snatched my wrist. I was flustered and wanted to refuse, but the words wouldn't come out, and eventually, the man grabbed my wrist and started dragging me. Terrified, I imagined all sorts of things in my head. Korean news reports about a high school girl who went abroad to study and lost contact, only to be found missing... I had to escape somehow.

"Stop, stop!! No, no, no!"

”Be quiet!”
(Quiet!)

At that moment, my wrist slipped from the man's hand.

“You better go before you call the police?”
(You'd better leave before the police are called.)

“Ha, How are you?”
(Ha, who are you?)

”…Her boyfriend.”
(…her boyfriend.)

“…shit.”
(Fuck.)

The man ran toward the entrance as if fleeing. The person who let go of my hand was that unlucky boy I had bumped into the other day. I was so startled that I only understood the curse he muttered at the end and couldn't hear the rest of what he said. And as the tension finally released, I gasped for breath.

“Haa…ha…”

“…….”

“Follow me.”
(Follow me.)

The boy quietly watched me gasping for breath, then gently grabbed my wrist and led me out of the club.

I was being dragged along by that boy's hand, and his back was so broad that I couldn't see where we were going. We kept walking somewhere, and when the boy stopped, I headbutted his back right there.

"evil."

“Why are you alone? You should be with the kids. Korea might be safe, but it’s different here. It’s dangerous.”

“…“

You can go home now. Oh, you live in the dorms, right? I'll give you a ride.

"…huh."

When I stopped, I realized we had arrived at a dark alley behind a club. Then, the boy suddenly started speaking Korean rapidly and offered to take me back to the dormitory. Since I was already exhausted and felt like I would be scared if I stayed any longer, I said okay.

Beep beep. Click.

I arrived at the dormitory and immediately dove onto the bed. Lying there, many thoughts crossed my mind. If it weren't for that guy, where would I be right now? I should have at least asked for his name. It was 12:47 AM when I last checked my phone while lying in bed.
