OH MY KISS!
While I was talking to Jungkook, a pretty girl suddenly came up to us and started talking to Jungkook.
“You’re really good…That was cool…!”
(You did really well…you were awesome…!)
“uh..thanks.”
(Uh...thank you.)
”…Who’s next to you?”
(…who’s next to you?)
"ah,"
“Why are you curious about that?”
(Why are you curious about that?)
“No, sorry. See you later.”
(No, sorry. See you next time.)
It turned out that the girl was the cheerleader I'd bumped into at school before. She tried to talk to Jungkook, but his stubbornness cut her off pretty quickly. The girl gave me a subtle glare and then walked away.
Only then did I remember my friends. I grabbed the phone in my pocket and called Sasha, one of the four of us, and told her I was sorry but she had to go first. I put the phone back in my pocket and looked ahead again, and Jeon Jungkook was staring at me.
“Uh…why…?”
“Oh, no. Should we go now? Everyone has already left.”
“Yeah. But…”
"huh?"
As I was about to leave, the overwhelming aroma of the food that had greeted me upon arrival flashed through my mind. That sweet aroma… I couldn't let it go, but I was also embarrassed to tell Jungkook I had to eat it. He seemed like a kid who only cared about food!
But I haven't tried food truck food since coming to the US, so I really want to try it this time. That's what I'm saying.
“No, it’s nothing special. It just smelled sweet earlier..”
"I really want to eat this! It's not like that... I've never even tried street food since coming to the US..."
“Ah…ㅋㅋㅋ Let’s go eat ㅋㅋㅋㅋ”
"yes…"
My face flushed with inexplicable embarrassment. Jungkook leaped over to the stands in one breath, and we headed out of the stadium toward the food trucks.

“Wow. This is a really impressive taste…”
“Is it delicious? Hahahahaha”
“…Why have you been laughing all this time? (Stinging)”

“Sorry..ㅋㅋㅋ I can’t stop laughing.. Eat a lot.”
What is it that he finds so funny that he keeps laughing? Surely he's not laughing because he thinks I'm a pig?! I couldn't concentrate on eating because he kept laughing next to me. But I didn't stop. I finished the sweet churros.
Perhaps because it's America, these are much sweeter than Korean churros. Plus, they have chocolate for dipping, so the sugar content is doubled. But it's actually good, right? ^^
After finishing all the churros and thoroughly throwing away the trash, we took a short walk around the school. We walked slowly, chatting for a while, though not much. I heard that Jungkook had been on the rugby team since middle school. Contrary to his appearance, he loves cute things and even has a stuffed animal. Honestly, I was a bit surprised to hear this.
And Jungkook also lives in a dorm. Jungkook's parents are both Korean, and they lived in the US for work before getting married. Jungkook's parents are Korean, so he is Korean, but he was born in the US, so he has two citizenships.
Jungkook's parents divorced a long time ago and live separately, so he lives with his father. His father lives in a remote part of the country, so he has to live in a dormitory to attend school. Hearing this made me feel like we'd become closer.
Before I knew it, I had reached the entrance to the dormitory building, and I was overcome with regret.
“Time flies when we walk and talk!”
“Huh…? What is Sunsak?”
“Ah…! What, it means that time passes really quickly!”
“I’m hearing that for the first time… Anyway, I’ll remember it.”
When we entered the dormitory entrance, we had to separate at the entrance because the women's building and the men's building were separate.
“You go in first.”
“Oh, yeah!”
“Bye. See you at school.”
“You too, bye.”
When I arrived at the entrance to the women's building and looked back, I saw that Jungkook hadn't gone in yet and was watching me go in. When I gestured for him to go in, Jungkook smiled and mouthed, "You go in first."

The last time I looked back, Jungkook was smiling and waving.
